Ompahpah, schuss. The Alps come alive as you dine in this tiny spot that does its best to evoke an Alpine village tavern. Waitresses in dirndl dresses serve up hearty, rib-sticking fare typical of the Hungarian Alpine region. Options range from veal goulash to chicken paprikash, accompanied by spaetzle, which is a tasty dumpling/noodle-like side dish. Your dinner may end with a tempting apple strudel if you are weak of will.

Many years ago the food used to be good. Now it is awful. Ate there with friends who have been loyal patrons and they agreed that the quality of the food was almost inedible. Will not go back again.

I have been going there for years and have always had good meals and good service there. The person from way back in 2008 is wrong! I live in the area of Wilton Manors, so it is close! Sorry to see that someone stole the white bird from out front, though! Try it....

What a horrible experience. Terrible service and rude waiters. Food was overcooked (unedible) and beverages were old and flat. Decor was tacky. I never complain but this was one of the worst places I've ever been to. Owner didn't even try to make good. Save your time and money. I will never return. Fast food would have been better. Waste of $100.

Had a delicious dinner tonight at the Wine Cellar. From the time we entered the restaurant to the time we left, the staff was cordial, the ambience was delightful (sit next to the aviary!) and the service was excellent. My party thoroughly enjoyed the roast duck, veal goulash, wienerschnitzel and side dishes. I would not hesitate to recommend this jewel of a restaurant!!!

The potato pancakes were excellent. The bread was new and different - warm with onions. Very flavourful. I had the pork with sage dressing and my friend had the liver. They were both great and nicely sized portions.

Too Bad!!!

The meal started well, with potatoe pancakes, good bread and a great salad. Next came the main dish, Cordon Blue. Was it veal or chicken or pork? I don't know. I do know what it was, but, it was as dry as can be. When I told the waiter, he said I should have told him sooner, and that it should have been served with gravy. Oh well, maybe next time we will have the schnitzle. No doggie bag tonight! Disappointed!

Don't go there or it will be too crowded for us. We are there two or three times a month. The best of everything incuding food, service, etc.

Worth the trip!

Tired of Italian or chinese food, we tried something different. It was worth the trip to Oakland Blvd. The food was delicious and the service good too. We would definitely go back for more!

A SPECIAL FIND

I have been to the Wine Cellar several times and it ranks as one of my favorite places for dining. Attentive (but not annoyingly) staff. Great food at more than reasonable prices. Make your reservations early. :)
