Mikado Japanese Restaurant, Oakland Park

Just had dinner here on 12/17/11 for the first time happen to be staying at Fort Lauderdale Marriott North, we asked the bellman for a Japanese restaurant and he gave the name of Mikado and 2 others close by. He recommended to try Mikado, and we were so glad we did. They also had some Thai dishes, the soup was outstanding(was on special menu), & the sushi very fresh. They have very different yet creative rolls, especially on the specials menu. The restaurant looked very nice, clean & updated. The service was excellent, the owner Kathy was a gracious hostess, very attentive to all the tables as was all the staff, they couldn't have been nicer. Would highly recommend Mikado and plan to visit there again when in the area.

The food is fresh and authentic. Great service. It was closed for 2 weeks because of renovation. I definately coming back. Now business is open 7 days a week. I am really enjoy going to eat at Mikado Sushi.

This is Japanese cuisine at its finest. The food is fresh and authentic. The atmosphere and the staff at Mikado's reminds me of my most recent trip to Japan (unlike at the flashy restaurant chains). I'm already looking forward to my next meal there.
