Chuck's Steak House, Fort Lauderdale

Excellent food, excellent service, great salad bar and very moderate prices. Blows away Outback for quality, service and prices.

So, this place was okay, but not special. The wait staff was slow, both to provide service and to warm up to our table. The salad bar was good, but no different than at any buffet in a cheap chain steakhouse. Ordered the 16 oz. bone in NY strip. Cooked perfectly but totally flavorless. The steak was very tender and moist, it just needed a good deal of seasoning for flavor. Oh, and if you want more than sour cream or butter on your baked potato or if you want bread with your meal, you make another trip back to the salad bar. While the experience was not bad, for the price there are better steakhouses.

We walked in the place and they told us the electric was out but would be back on shortly as FPL was working on it. We got our salads and appetizer when the waitress told us the electric would not be back on and they could not cook our meal as there was no lights in the kitchen. I have no problem with this but was appalled when no manager came to our table, people walked out and they brought me a bill for $43.00. I was charged for salad bar as a meal, per person, drinks and appetizer. I have worked in the industry before, and this should have been comped as they could not provide full services after telling us they could. If they had handled it differently we would still be going there for dinner. Never again

The place is not fancy - but the steaks are excellent and prepared just the way you asked. Plus, the prices are very moderate. To top it off, the service is efficient and friendly. Worth a visit.

Too Many things to like. For starters they have a very friendly staff that makes you feel right at home. Happy hour was great, Discounted drinks and food. Salad Bar is the best. The Steaks were right on the money and a great value. Our Server was polite, Knowledgeable and Efficient. I will be a long term regular for years to come. I can't wait to try the one on 17th street.

We stayed at the Best Western Marina Inn and when we were heading out to the Outback for dinner, the Hotel Van driver recommended that we try out Chuck's. He said they had excellent food with a nice salad bar. The whole Van decided to make that their place of choice for dinner and what a great place it was. Even though the place looked busy, we were seated within 5 minutes. We sat outside on the rocker picnic table and we loved it. The guys had steaks and us girls had the ribs. The food was excellent along with the service. We all enjoyed the salad bar! My husband and I are looking forward to bringing our family to Chuck's when we take our cruise in April.
