Populated by burnt out waitresses who feel that by working in the same location for fifteen years they're doing you a favor. Many times snide remarks can be heard exchanged by staff about table guests creating a hardly welcoming atmosphere. Although there have been exceptions as we've had wonderful service on a few occasions.
The ambiance isn't what it's cracked up to be. While the view is spectacular, the actual decoration looks as if it should have been trashed about twenty years ago. At first glance, one might think 'rustic', but after closer inspection all they can think of is 'dirty'.
However, without fail the food is spectacular, complete with creamy chowders, buttery sauces, and delicious desserts. Although a bit expensive, not over-priced. Also another asset is the fully stocked bar/lounge upstairs, complete with some of the friendliest bartenders in the area.
If one can get over the crabby old hags in candy striper outfits, the rusted light fixtures, and the massive iguanas that populate the outside of the premise- then you'll have a grand time.
i took a friend here for her birthday and it was very enjoyable...a bit noisy and not enough parking however..contrary to policy they did make a reservation for 2...i would have liked to see more selections of shellfish..only one shrimp entree on menu
The ambiance is great, love the raw bar upstairs and the water view, always busy. The food is expensive and good, but not always great. Want a huge lobster, they have a 5 pounder I believe for about a hundred dollars. It's a great place to take company for a nice, relaxing meal.
I'm in from Cleveland for my Mom's 75th birthday. This is by far one of the best restaurants I've been to in years - and I dine out often. The crab cakes were delicious. We had a waitress that was here from Russia & never have I had such awesome service. A walk around the nooks and crannies is a must.
This is by the far the best restaurant I went to in South Florida during my stay there for over a year. Can't argue with its menu at all nor the atmosphere considering it is a few yards from the ocean. Try the salmon there. It is by the far the best prepared.
I didn't see much that I could classify as a negative, otherwise I wouldn't have gone there more than a few times.
Each time we come to South Florida for vacation the Sea Watch is on the top of our list of places to eat. We always try to get there for the early bird specials. The food is excellent, especially the Key Lime Pie. I've never had a bad experience when we've visited the restaurant. The views are so relaxing and beautiful. A very enjoyable dining experience. Would highly recommend eating at Sea Watch.
I come to the Fort Lauderdale area about 6 times a year to vacation and for work. I found this
smaller, but very clean hotel, to stay at. I will never stay at another place anytime I am in ...
