A lovely old house was preserved and reworked to become this cozy restaurant so prettily lighted that it's often featured in the region's promotional pieces. A wide variety of culinary options, ranging from Moroccan to Japanese, Italian and Cuban can be found here. It's not so much what you eat, however, as the ambiance in which you eat it. Here that means candlelight, views of the ocean lapping on the beach across the street, a kind of Morocco-meets-Mediterranean-meets-tropical atmosphere that somehow works.
What a pleasant surprise this was, I have walked past this place before & never tried it as it looks like a cross between a Bistro & a bar and not to my taste. Whilst taking a morning walk on the beach with my wife last Thursday, she was tired & hungry & dying for a meal. We walked over & looked at the menu. She opted for the rack of lamb, however as it was lunchtime..no lamb. Already seated on the terrace with a cool breeze wafting in from the sea, we were nicely comfortable and too tired to move on, so she had the salmon steak instead and was was absolutely thrilled. I had the smoked salmon which was comparable to the best Scotland has to offer [but please guys drizzle a little lemon juice on the plate to bring out the full flavor]. We shared the chilled peach soup starter, very interesting & we had a lot of fun with it. For dessert I had the key lime pie & my wife tried the amaretto cheesecake, this shocked us as the presentation was what we are used to in the Michelin starred restaurants we frequent in Europe. The service was great , and even though the waiter was run of his feet he kept it together, being unintrusive & attentive which is a masterful combination only a few can get right. Prices were right on, the whole meal and a couple of beers costing around $60 and we threw in a $15 tip. This is one place I will be recommending and revisiting.
And hey all you whiners if the food aint right, send it back and ask them to do it again...It's what good eateries do.
Terrible. I have been here twice and had a terrible experience both times. I'm not sure how there food is but the staff is rude and slow. I was hoping the second time around would be better. I will never go here again.
i expected to have a nice girls night out in this cute quaint-looking restaraunt, but the exact opposite occurred. The seating was cluttered. The menu was very limited, i've had more selection on an airplane. Our drinks and unleavened bread were the best part. We recieved our meal two minutes after we ordered it, making us a little suspicious. Our suspicions were correct when we took that first bite. The Cumin Grilled Steak, the pork loin appetizer, polenta cake, asparagus, and black beans and rice were repulsive! I got sick right when we left. The only fun, enjoyable time we had was being served by the handsome waiter. A complete waste of $60
I was very dissapointed with the food. I ordered the filet medium rare, tasted burnt, over cooked, served as two hunks of charred beef. Definetly not worth the $35. Outback beats them ten fold. My date ordered the salmon, very under cooked, and cold. This was definetly not worth the $100.
One of the best resturants that I have ever experienced. The atmosphere is perfect for romantic dinners or pricey business partners. Sit upstairs on the balcony for an uninterrupted view of the ocean. The martinis are excellent and the food is even better. Our waitress' name was Natalie and was one of the best. I had the sea bass and it was delicious...melt in your mouth good. My girlfriend had the filet and she loved it, and she's not even that big of a steak eater. Both were the waitress's recommendations-glad we took her advice. We are going to be coming back here often and try other dishes on the menu.
The Casablanca Cafe is one of my favorite places in Fort Lauderdale. We eat there at least once a week. First, the place has tremendous atmosphere, sitting right across from the ocean. Second, the food is very good and the staff are great. The bartenders are friendly as are the wait staff. Plus, Dave, the Senior Manager, makes you feel like a King and Queen. To top it off, the wine list is good and fairly priced and is the menu. Can't ask for anything more.
Everything was great, Food, service, ambiance. You Should go there once in Your life! Is a Wonderful place to eat with the ocean in front of You !!!!!!!! Would be great for a date. I'll go again and again
