Shorty's BBQ probably weighs in at a 3 on the scare of 1 to 10, 1 being utterly heinous. The waitstaff is nice and the portions are large but boiling the flavor out of meat and then putting it on the grill is not my idea of BBQ. If you want a full plate of bland meat soaked in BBQ sauce, go to any of the Shorty's restaurants. I personally think Sonny's in Homestead is a little better. Bottom line: If you want good BBQ you won't find it in Miami.

They boil the ribs prior to cooking, and they're GREAT!

Shorty's has great bar b que, but their cole slaw is the best I have ever had! I have enjoyed Shorty's since I was a child, and make it a regular destination for BBQ!

These folks make a mean barbeque! The brisket is absolutely the most delicious creation birthed from fire! A must for anyone who truly enjoys barbeque.

As a Miami native and resident most of my life, I can personally vouch for Shorty's as the best BBQ restaurant in our local area. I also do BBQS for myself, family, and friends, get complemented myself, and consider myself very picky when it comes to this type of food.Having a high standard for myself and having tried other local places, I can sincerely say thet Shorty's is it! True, other Shorty's have opened localy but the one near Dadeland recomended on this site is the very best!

I worked in Kendall in the mid 90's and one of my favorite spots to have lunch and even dinner was... Shorty's!!! Love that BBQ Chicken sandwich and the atmosphere too. I now live in Los Angeles, but anytime I'm in the Miami area... Shorty's is definitely one of my stops - I highly recommend it.

Highly overrated, much better place is "Shivers" just south of Miami, moldy bread turned me off during a lunch stp at this establismnet. management did apologize, but no excuse for this.

Shorty's is overrated. Locals (So Florida residents) like it because they have never had real bbq and know no better.

This is best country style BBQ i have eaten. the brisket is out of this world. i was on vacation in miami with my family and we ate there. i wanted to take the place back here to North Carolina. the service was fantastic. to tell you the truth i would rather eat there than any ^$$$ restaurant. thanks to my brother that lived in miami.
