Fox's Sherron Inn

Description

The outstanding service, low prices, and excellent meals served in large portions all account for the Fox's Sherron Inn's enormous popularity. Equal parts bar, lounge, and restaurant, the place is laidback and fun. Demand often overwhelms supply of the nightly specials, so make sure and call ahead. Favorites include stuffed lobster on Sundays, and prime rib on Tuesdays. A good place for a consistently good meal that can be enjoyed at affordable prices.

Fox's on South Dixie Highway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/8/08
This small, intimate place has been our favorite for birthdays, anniversaries, or just have a night out with kids! We always take out-of-town family and friends here. Food is great.

A conversation place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/07
What is great about the fox is that you can actually have a conversation with people and hear what they say. They have a jukebox but its set at a reasonable volume. When they get packed three deep at the bar you can still hear, but the sound of laughter and clinking cocktail glasses only add to the fun. They actually have a great menu that features everything under the sun, including frog legs. Its a great hangout when you want to be with friends or away from them,,as an oasis from the hustle and bustle of South Miami, though as I said, it can get crowded at times.

Loyal customers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/6/07
If you frequent Fox's, you will notice that regulars love to hang out and drink, talk, eat, drink, talk, laugh, etc,,,get the picture? Thats why I go there and also because the food is very good and the drinks are well made. I agree they need a carpenter to fix a few things, like the last reviewer stated, but the place is old and worn like a comfy flannel shirt. Margo is the best bartender and knows how to work the crowd, she tells jokes, and knows what you drink after the first visit. Highly recommended.

Old school hangout
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/5/07
Very good martini's and daily dinner specials. I like the fact that breakfast is always available. Rather rustic ambiance with a cast of characters not uncommon at bars up north, not so common down here and that makes fox's unique. The regulars love it. They only need minor repairs as to not change the atmosphere. A new door leading out to US1, because its hard to open. They need a few nails or screws for the curve at the bar where the wood is sticking out and a few more nails to fix moldings. Outside of that, the place runs as smooth as a sewing machine.

Best Place in Miami
By Eva, 9/19/07
I really don't know what the reader that only gave Fox's 3 stars is talking about, but they are very incorrect. Their prices are great and so are the heavy poured drinks. You don't see prices like that anymore. I love fox's from the martinis to the food. The staff is friendly and the service is great. They also have a late night happy hour on tuesdays and saturdays. Where do you see that? Anyways, go in and try the best kept secret in Miami.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/23/07
hostess claimed sandwiches, salads, pizza's all 9.99 on sale for lunch.be careful because thier drink prices are not listed on the menu.we paid 2@8.00 for a beer 2@14.00 for a daquiri and 2@3.50 for lemonade.the sanwiches came to 29.97 for 3.but the drinks came to be $51.00 for 4 drinks and 2 lemonades.$8.00 for a beer thats more than at the ritz-carlton.

What a Great Bar
By Harry R, 2/8/07
What's not to like the food is great the drinks are ample. All bars should be like Fox's so dark in there you can have a drink with your girlfriend and your wife could be in the next booth and she would never see you.

A place like no other
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/29/05
The atmospere is great because it is dark and intimate, the locals love to hang out there. It has been around for such a long time that the regulars call it home. The seats are comfortable and I love the candles and roses on the table. Cozy Place!! Two thumbs up!! The building is older with old-style doors and furniture. The place looks small when you first walk in, but extends to small rooms in the back. As you adjust your eyes to the darkness at first, you notice the well stocked bar that has just about everything you can think of to make drinks. It is like the old time "Cheers" bar but dark. The jukebox is free to choose whatever music you like, mostly what's played is 40's & 50's music. The menu is extensive and has some things that no other restaurant has. Two nights a week is lobster night with reservations required for the delicious special. The portions are excellent for the price and the flavor is unbelievable. The service is great and everyone is friendly and happy to be there. It is the type of bar/restaurant "where everyone knows your name" (Cheers), and they do talk to you. What a great place to meet people and feel at home.

Something for everybody
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/13/05
I loved the dim lights in the lounge room and the other rooms were just like an inn, hence the name. Fox's is unique in that they are family owned and is run very smoothly. The food is always delicious and everything is fresh and piping hot, like the soups. The menu covers a lot, pan fried snapper, steaks, fried chicken, thumb bits, greek salads that are huge. Try a martini before dinner and enjoy a very pleasant and relaxing time in a rather ageless wonder that is Fox's.
