Aura Restaurant, an addition to Lincoln Road's array of restaurants was designed by Morris Lapidus of Fontainebleau Hilton fame. The appetizers are excellent. Entrees include pasta, seafood, and meat dishes. Desserts come in portions generous enough to share. There is a full bar. Despite a handsome bar and a bustling dining room accented by rich cherry wood, mirrors, and large, multicolored amoebas on the walls, patrons still prefer the al fresco dining outside.
Stepped in for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. The hostess was friendly and the waitress was quick out to the table. Ordered a South Beach ice tea, then the blackened Salmon. Food was great, drink was really nice. Would visit again.
I ate at Aura Restaurant last night and it was wonderful. I had the best Lamb Shish Kabob I've ever had in my life. They gave us 2 free Mojitos and they even gave my dog a meatball. The food came promptly, the waiter Aziz was great, and what can I say about the host. It was Jay's friendliness that made us want to try the restaurant. He made the whole experience so much fun and he's extremely dog friendly. I'll repeat, the food was great and reasonable. We've eaten at many restaurants on Lincoln Road as we go there often and this was our best experience there yet.
Sincerely, Inda Solomon
Worst dining experience ever! My $14 drink tasted like pure olive juice. The bread at mold on it and was old and hard. They messed up both my order and my friends. I ordered my steak medium and it came out well done. I asked that it be sent back and said I didn't want to order anything else because we had a show to catch. The waitress annoyingly threw the dish in the garbage right by the table-making a point and then continued to come back to say that my first drink was no longer on the house because I didn't order a meal- Can you believe the nerve? I spoke with the manager who apologized and took the steak off the bill (BTW...our original waitress never returned to our table, not even to drop off the check), but when we got our bill they have added 17% gratuity. Bad business practice!! Terrible experience.
By far the worst meal I've ever had. Do not make the mistake of dining there.
I went to Aura after reading that they serve great paella and was terribly disappointed. The paella was mush with seafood thrown in it.. old seafood, which I had to spit out onto my napkin to keep from vomiting. We also ordered the hummus and pita as an appetizer and I'm telling you that the hummus had no taste to it whatsoever. I've bought better tasting hummus in my grocery store. The pita was not fresh either. My boyfriend ordered the linguini with lobster. The lobster was clearly old (what a surprise) and had about two bites worth of meat in it. The pasta wasn't good either.
The people outside are really good at luring unsuspecting customers in. Very friendly at first and very good at tricking you into believing that you're getting a great deal. I know I wasn't the only one disappointed with the food because a table by us sent back their food telling the waiter that it was terrible and inedible. The free drinks are tiny too. Spend your money elsewhere! Sibilla was pretty good and only a few stores down!
I can't stress enough how truly disgusting the food really was.
We were seated promptly and then continued to wait for our food for over an hour. Granted it was very busy, but my girlfriend ordered a veggie wrap and I ordered a cheeseburger. Hardly the type of food that should take over an hour to prepare. The table next to us waited just as long and complained and they got their food before us. I guess I should have complained because they brought out my girlfriend's food 20 minutes before mine saying she looked hungry. Then my girlfriend tried to order a drink from the bar because our waitress was nowhere to be found and they told her she had to either sit at the bar or wait for the waitress. This was the first restaurant we went to on our vacation just by walking down the street and deciding it looked good. If the tip of 18% was not already included in the check I would not have left anything. I would recommend looking at some of the other places along the strip since they all seem similar.
What a fabulous restaurant! The service was as wonderful as the food was and the ambiance is like none other on South Beach! And if you are looking to see celebrities, they ALL can be found at Aura. The night I dined there it was non-stop, I was completely star struck!
I'm a tourist from France and Aura was the best restaurant i ate during my vacation. The service was very warm and friendly but at the same time professional. The food was great. The Seabass was increadible. Their Manager Veronica is very kind and helpfull.
Was a great experience and i highly recommanded.Thank you guys you are all great!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The restaurant has a nice ambiance because it is in a trendy area in Miami Beach. Do not let this fool you. We ordered the salmon carpacio, it smelled and tasted strange. We also ordered the filet mignon wraps. I do not know what meat this was, but it was not filet mignon, it might have been round steak or a lesser quality than that, it was tough. The wrap did not have any kind of sauce or dressing. It was the meat, a little onion and the greens. It was not worth the wait or the cost. My daughter ordered the yellowtail and could not finish it. The only thing that I would recommend was the lobster bisque, it was delicious. For 5 people, no drinks, 3 wraps, 2 soups and 2 fish dishes the total was $150.00! We do not recommend this restaurant unless you are having just soup.
The service was amazing! As soon as my drink was half empty it was refilled. As soon as I placed a cigarette in the ashtray I was brought a clean one. It was fast and eating outside was great. I had some amazing pizza and my boyfriend said he had the best lobster he'd ever eaten in his life!
