Since Sushi Maki opened in 2000, weac2ve been on a roll (pun intended) spreading the joy of what great sushi should be; delicious, responsibly sourced ingredients, creative and tasty combinations and an experience you want to have again and again. Luckily sushi newbies and know-it-alls alike urged us to keep on rollinac2 and we went from one sushi shop in South Miami to opening additional restaurants in Coral Gables, Palmetto Bay, Miami International Airport, Brickell and Kendall Marketplace.
This is one of my least favorite sushi places. The sushi isn't bad, but it's not that great either. I think it's they have the skinniest dragon rolls i've ever seen. The rice taste like vineger and the sea weed is always tough and hard to bite through. The food there is VERY expensive and the service: BAD! The waiter always makes a stupid witty comment that just gets on my nerves. They must make a lot of money by the hour because they sure don't care what the customers think...
I'm a Sushi Lover and this is one of my fav. restaurants! I love their consistency and the food is great. I recommend the Dragon Roll or the Volcano Roll. I do agree w/the other reviews about the service it can be better but it still wont stop me from going. I usually just take it to go:)
This place was pretty bad. California roll - not real crab. Hard to do bad veggie tempura, but I had the bottom end of an asparagus in mine, tough and the whitish part not cut off! Katsu pretty bad too.
My family and I love sushi, but this place is bad. We've been here a few times and always get the same result. Ok food, and bad service. Yes the place is very clean, but somehow our stomachs alway regret it later. There are plenty of good sushi places around to be wasting money and time here!
It is one of the cleanest sushi restaurants I've been too. The sushi is amazing. The only con is the service. It depends on the waiter. There are some good waiters and some bad. But that would never stop me from eating there! Yummy!
