Yambo Restaurant

Description

Ride 'em, urban cowpokes, over to this unusual spot where the decor is Nicaraguan with an emphasis on cowboy memorabilia! Both a cultural and a culinary adventure, Yambo will introduce you to the flavors of the Central American homeland. To sample a variety of tastes, try the appetizer platter called Antojoitos or stick to the Nicaraguan version of a corn dog, a Nacatamale , Tamale uniting cornmeal and pork. Red Beans and Rice is a mainstay and a whole snapper is an outstanding choice here where prices are low and spirits high.

The world knows three kitchens: Chinese, French (Western, if you will) and Turkish. All other forms of cooking (including LatAm) merit neither a detour nor a comment.

My husband and I were here last week and he got really ill. He ate a perrereque and a cacao juice. He was ill the next 3 days. It may be because they have these sweet perrereques on a s non refrigerated platic covered stand. Only God know's if they are fresh and how long they have been there. This is a 24HR place and as we all know any product that is made of milk or cheese of has any type of dairy product is sure to go bad soon.

The best Nacatamale since being in the homeland! You have to try the nicanbeer too! I eat here once a week! It's the best home-food!

My absolute favorite restaurant. The food is great and plentiful although I always stick to the Carne Asada, I have been going to this place since I was 8 yrs old. 19 years later its still my favorite anytime restaurant. Try a Quesillo another fav (Cheese, sour cream and fried onions wrapped in a tortilla) and to drink a Cebada can't really explain that one. But its something that you won't really see anywhere else.

Best late night spot to get flavorful food! You can sit outside where they keep a bowl of there salsa on the table. The Cacoa drink is a must. Its like a chocolate milk with a twist. The Carne Asada is to die for!

Best late nite Miami dive restaurant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/4/06
Food is kickin & the prices are right. Staff speaks no English, so you have to be able to stumble throught some basic Spanish to get the goods. Well worth the trip to Little Havana. Colorful outside cafe makes it good for afernoon eating too.
