This restaurant specializes in serving fresh fish. But there's a lot more to it than that. Don't stop to think before binging on their delicious meatloaves or their steaks. The fish specials depend on the availability of fresh fish. You can try their Yellowtail Snapper in a Thai curry sauce, Penne with Crawfish and Scallops, or Sashimi. Seven Fish is not far from Duval Street. The restaurant is smoke-free. You can expect good food, great service and desserts to die for. Reservations are recommended.
We don't recommend Seven Fishes and we are experienced Key West restaurant goers. It's very crowded and noisy, difficult to have a conversation. You are rushed, as if they need to turn over the table, so an expensive two-course meal is 'done' in one hour. My mahi mahi was dry, the tostitos with my husband's salsa tasted as if they were from a package, the pasta served with my husband's tuna was heavy, glutinous tasting, and my vegetables (broccoli, carrots) were steamed, watery and tasteless. For the money, there are far better places to eat in Key West.
I Love,Love, Love this place! Yes, it is small and yes you need reservations, but the food is absolutely amazing. They have 3 fresh local fish every night, and they are all amazing! I have been several times, and it's alwas great. Can not think of a better restaurant in Key West.
Where do we begin? First, it's a concrete room with 'kitchen table' furniture. Loud. NO ambiance. The menu is unimaginative. Fish was dry. Sides? Huh? Awful. Food is overpriced for what it is. Quality is questionable. And THEN, when we were still finishing our bottle of wine they had the nerve to ask us to leave because they wanted to seat other customers!!!! The way I see it, lack of planning and greed on their part should not mean that we are evicted after paying over $500 for a meal for our group. Never, EVER EVER go there!
it was great we have dinner 3 times each year and the food is great and servise is great old key west love it dont tell every one if some dont like it .it ok more room for us i cant wate till next week i am going a on feb 14 and can t wate see ya soon
Our B&B recommended Seven Fish. There were not many tables for 2, and unfortunately we were seated right next to the bathroom door. The place lacked atmosphere even before that. The salad was good; we shared a large 3 cheese Caesar that was accompanied by good bread. My husband's dinner, the tuna special, was excellent. The server recommended it. But my entree, the crawfish and scallops with mango chutney, was just awful. It was uber-sweet. It tasted like the chef had used about 1/4 cup of corn syrup and candied ginger. You culd taste nothing but sugar. The brownie my husband had for dessert was about 1/10 as sweet as my entree! They should take this item off the menu.
Over the years I keep hearing great things about this restaurant. So I tried it. Twice. Folks, it's not worth it. The food is OK. Not great but OK. It's over priced though by a lot. It's the atmosphere that does me in though. It's cramped, bright and noisy. If you want an intimate conversation you can forget that. It's certainly not a romantic retreat. There are so many better places in KW to dine.
Old Key West has a nice little ambiance one of the many great restaurants is this one. When you have been to Key West over the past 20 years you find yourself not going to the touristy places and looking for the some of the better restaurants and you have got to get off Duval.. Seven Fish, is really fresh fresh fish, gourmet portions and top notch flavor the cerviche is one of my favorites. Tell you the truth we saw the fish truck roll up while we were waiting for it to open.. DO make reservations its a must. parking is not always easy there (but where in KW is it?) small intimate dinning room. We loved it and its a nice change of pace especially for relaxing
We love going there when we're down for vacation - we usually have dinner there at least once. The dishes are creative, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is quaint and homelike.
My husband passed ny seven fish while out on a jog dduring our stay in key west and said it looked like a neat little restaurant. we decided to eat there on our last night in key west and it was fantastic! it was a monday night and after we had been there for a half hour there were another 5 tables after us (there are MAYBE 20 tables in the whole place) and it was summer on a monday night. Great food, great service, perfectly sized portions... highly recommend it!
