First opened in 1909, this restaurant is looking toward the full century mark and gives every appearance of coasting right up to that date and well beyond. Start the day with a build-your-own omelet and home fries, or homemade granola for the healthy set. Lunch choices include a variety of sandwiches and soups. Nightly specials include Maine lobster on Tuesday and prime rib on Saturday. A Thanksgiving dinner can be enjoyed every Thursday. You can dine outside on a garden patio in lovely tropical surroundings or inside in air-conditioned comfort.
I really loved Pepe's. The manager at our hotel (The Southern Cross....a great place to stay!) said we should eat there. The food took a while, but, we had a table of six and they were really busy. It was more than worth the wait! If they have the crab or steak omelets.......order both and share! I asked someone if the fresh baked coconut bread was for sale...it wasn't, but, the gentleman went right into the kitchen and made me a copy of the recipe! Put this place on your list. I will go there again!
At least 15 times in Key West.I never miss meatloaf at Pepes. The first time we were there, a customer was disapointed because they had run out of meatloaf before he arrived. I make it a point to get there early on Monday so I don't miss out.Usually get there 2-3 other times each stay.
Best priced happy hour draft on island
We actually found Pepe's by chance when someone we met at pool side from Louisiana was raving about the best stuffed pork chops in town. He was defenetly right. This was 15 years ago and everytime we go to KW we make Peppe's a must dinner stop. I have never tried their breakfast but plan to make that a must as well.
Camping blocks away we stumbled on Pepes. Cant wait to get back! Only 2200 miles away for eggs and sausage to die for. If you havnt been here you missed a special part of the keys. I just hope its ALWAYS there. And a card too! Freezing in Minnesota . Rog and Pam Oss
I love this place!!! One of my favorite breakfast spots! The service has varied for me, as well as friends. I guess it all depends on the server and what kind of day they're having (which is a shame!!!) I've never had bad service. It's either been mediocre or great. Best mimosa's in Key West!!!!
I ate there about 8 years ago and it was good. However, I just got back from Key West yesterday - tried it again and it was terrible. I could not order from the lunch menu at 4:45 PM, only from the dinner menu and it was VERY limited, only a few items on this menu. The waiter was rude, wouldn't make eye contact with us so I finally just drank a beer and left.
This used to be a great place - no more. I would not recommend it to anyone.
On our first trip to Key West we asked several locals where to eat breakfast, they all recommended Pepe's. We tried it and they were right, we liked the atmosphere, the food was good, the service can drag some if it is crowded. The expierence the first time was great and haven't hesitated to go back again.
