Pepe's Cafe & Steakhouse, Key West

Very good service, wonderful service and reasonably priced.

Food was good. But the atmosphere in Pepe's was so bad I would not recommend anybody to go in. Me and my wife along with are guest from Canada when in to Pepe's on Wednesday 11,2011 at 3:00P/M to eat lunch. My grandson was enjoying himself chasing bird while they were flying in and was under control by his mother at all time. Then out of the bartender mouth came why don't you spank your child, it not MacDonald. At this time we pick up my grandchild and put him at the table. At this time again he kept taunting with his mouth and hand slapping at the bar stated that we should of spank him. There were 2 other peoples at the bar drinking with him. The bartender needed alot of interpersonal skill toward peoples. I advised my guests to leave Pepe's with my grandchild and wait for us. While me and my wife was finishing up with your meal he kept up the taunting with the other people at the bar. Also, two more peoples entered the bar and he kept on taunting with the other peoples at the bar while he still drinking shot with the other peoples at the bar. He needed to be taught how to communciate with people of all kinds.

We have only done breakfast and it is one of our DESTINATION spots. Worth the wait on weekends. Very good bloody Mary's and fresh squeezed OJ for screwdrivers. THe fresh baked breads are heavenly. A great spot to go and have a hearty home cooked breakfast if you have had too much fun on Duval Street the night before. Off the beaten path thank goodness, or you would never get in.

After having enjoyed a good breakfast at Pepe's we went back for dinner. Mixed reviews on dinner. Very good black bean soup for starters. My wife ordered a steak caesar salad which essentially had no taste! I ordered yellow snapper which was very good but a small portion. Overall we were disappointed.

Good food with reasonable prices. Great location. Service just OK.

My favorite place for breakfast. I can feast on homemade bread and unusual omelettes and my husband digs into creamed chipped beef, which they list on their checks as SOS. Great food, fun atmosphere and a host and servers who manage to remember you on return visits even though they serve 100s of people a day.

Great thanksgiving dinner everything Thursday. Get there early.

Pepe's is a great place to meet the locals. The bar has a 99cent draft special. Many of the locals congrate there in the afternoon.

The oldest restaurant in Key West is still my favorite. Starting the day with fresh-squeezed OJ and funky omelets is hard to beat.
