El Meson De Pepe's Restaurant & Bar, Key West

ALWAYS a winner....my wife and I go to the keys 5-6 times a year and we nver miss this one....staff/drinks and food are top shelf...

My husband and I visited Key West last week on our honeymoon and I am happy to say that this was the BEST restaurant we ate at. We had never tried Cuban style food and the waitress was very helpful in suggesting good things to try. Our appetizer, meal, service, and our Cuban coffee, to top it off, was absolutely amazing! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone who visits Key West!!! I had a #69 and my husband had a #80 and the portions were huge! We could have just split one of the entree's. We tried the Conch fritters for an appetizer and it was really good, i've never had Conch before and I really like it. Definitely visit this restaurant!

This is the best restaurant we have ever been to in all of of travels. Food is excellent, staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. We come back everytime we are there. Get the #80 combo platter- your tastebuds will thank you!

I don't know if the regular chef was out sick but the food was horrible. My chicken was too salty, the black beans (Frijoles Negros) had no flavor, and the worst part was the price $$$ WAY OVERPRICE!!!! $15.95 for a meal that left me still hungry. for $15.95 2 people can eat at a nice Cuban Restaurant in Miami and the portions are way bigger that what I got at El Meson. Like I said, I hope I went at a bad day. I followed the reviews here and they all looked good.

Yup, visit this restaurant! The food was to die for, the service was impeccable and the location -- wow! -- you know what they say -- location, location, location. After the sunset festivities, head over here for amazing food and incredible, intimate veranda seating outside in a old sunken patio setting. I am not going to spoil it for you, BUT GO.

By far the best meal of the vacation. Mojo sauce is amazing! Can't beat the fried plantain chips anywhere. Mojitos were great too. Get appetizers and share dinners; best way to experience it all. Was there in May, no wait for a table and got to see the sunset. The patio is a great place to enjoy dinner. Do be aware of the chickens! Not the ones on your plate, but the ones running over your feet under the table.
