We had our son's wedding rehearsal dinner here. They close the cafe for three hours in the afternoon to accomidate a party of 65. There was a variety of food served, as well as pitchers of margaritas, sangria, beer, wine and other beverages. The food and service was outstanding and the environment was perfect for this type of event. Everything was made fresh and if you love true mexican food, this is the place to go.
I have not been this upset & dissapointed in such a long time that I forgot what it felt like until yesterday. I have been telling my partner about Old Town Mexican Cafe for months and couldnt wait to take him there for our anniversary. We got there & was told to take a seat anywhere so we did. The tables were dirty & I asked the waiter to wipe it off. He never did but he took our order 20 minutes later (only 3 or 4 other tables were occupied). He finally brought out our food and my partners plate looked as if it was dropped and put back on the plate. We went ahead to eat and my Grilled Chicken looked so amazing and juicy but it tasted totally burnt and was horrible to try to eat. We waited for the waiter and he never came by to check on us but checked on other tables. Finally we flagged him down to ask for the check. We told him about our experience there and he just walked away with my credit card to get paid. OMG. Then he mentioned the cook cut his hand and thats why the food was burnt and messed up. Well Mr Waiter if this is true then you should had explained this to us and placed another order for us.
I can't imagine why people go to Old Town Mexican Cafe when there are several other excellent Mexican restaurants in town. I've visited Old Town many times over the years and the service has been lackluster; the food has been without character and tepid; and the prices are way too high. You don't have to go far to get a lot better food and value.
We ate at Old Town Mexican Cafe over the New Years Holiday. The food was wonderful. I order the seafood fajitas which was amazing . Our waiter Jason was outstanding . It was by far the best service we had in a long time . We will definitely recommend this place to our friends.
