Mostly Zagat is spot on with its ratings, but this restaurant really missed the mark. The food was average minus (the steak was tough, the tuna tasteless) and the service was just OK. The decor was pleasing, however. I expect a whole lot more when I spend $200 for two people. Needless to say, I won't be back.

The only place we ate at in Key West, but it was one of the best restaurants on our ten day South Florida trip. We skipped the steaks, but the seafood entrees (snapper meunier/tuna over penne pasta) were fantastic. The tropical breeze cocktail, wedge and caprese salads and the key lime pie/chocolate volcano were also fantastic. Service was friendly and there were no mistakes. Even got my camera, left under the table, mailed back to me!

Best Veal chop in the southeast. Not many seafood selections for a Key West location. The Hog Fish in Brown Butter was amazing. Steaks are usually the best in the Keys. Reasonable corkage fee if you like to bring your own wine from your cellar.

Makes Outback look like Delmonico's. The steak had more gristle than pig's feet. The veal chop was below par and parboiled. The seafood crepe was cold, but the plate was hot. On the upside, the server did damage control by givin

We spend two weeks in Key West every year and eat at the best restaurants here. Michaels has been our favorite place this year. Food was great, service was wonderful and atmosphere was great even though it was quite cold. My only problem was that the warm lobster salad wasn't warm although the steak it was on was perfect. I didn't bring this to the waitress' attention since it was good anyway and lobster was cooked perfectly before getting cold

Thought it was very good - though not as good as Louie's Backyard which we'd just had for lunch that day. Very cute garden dining with great service. Wish the fondue was available as an appetizer rather than full meal. Had the "light" - smaller portion option. Was a bit too small - I'd just go for the main entree.

Away from the hustle of downtown- drive or take a taxi. Wonderful Caeser and beefsteak tomato-bleu cheese salads. The steaks are easily the best in town, and both fillet and New York were cooked perfectly. Chocolate lava cake for dessert plus coffee for an excellent finish. Our waitress was funny and enthusiastic, just the right amount of attentiveness. If we had a few more days, we'd probably make a second trip to Michael's to try more dishes.

Overrated and over priced but sadly enough still the best food in Key West. If you're looking for good food the beach areas in the Clearwater area have some of the best food on the planet. I lived in Key West for one year and found thye food just ok at best.
