I will never visit an Ale House again. I have been going to various Ale House locations for years, but this was the last visit. The cheap beer and drink prices were the only thing that had us coming back. In general, the service is usually slow, unenthusiastic and sometimes down-right rude. The over-all cleanliness is not up to par, and the food is mediocre.
On this last visit, the food was ok. As far as cleanliness, the area that we were seated in smelled like old, dirty dish rags, and there was water on the floor by the restrooms which I almost slipped and fell on. As far as the service, this time the waitress was not only rude to me, she over-charged us for a pitcher of beer. When I pointed out the extra charge, she immediately started arguing and accused me of lying. I asked to see her manager, she refused and continued to try and argue with me. When a manager finally came out he immediately agreed to take the pitcher off, but ran away before I could complain about the rude service. It wasn't until we called him back and asked for his business card that he talked to us. Then the waitress refused to come back to our table. The whole ordeal took about 45 minutes from the time we received the check with the error to the time when we were able to pay.
I called the 1-800 customer service number and requested a call back but never received one. I wrote an email to the corporate office and never received a reply. I refuse to give money to a company that exhibits such poor customer service on all levels, from the server, to the middle management, to the corporate.
