I totaly love Kaiyo! I have been going there for many years and many years to come! i would recamend the buffet. Last year me and my family went to the buffet every day for a good 3 to 4 days befor we went back to new york. I would recamend the restrant to people who like to try different types of things.

What a pleasure it was dining at Kaiyo. We started w/ Tuna Tataki, it had a wonderful sesame, soy and sweet ginger sauce...so yummy. Our waiter suggested Dreamy Clouds Sake...so yummy too. I had a nice dinner assortment of sushi, sashimi and a roll w/ tuna, avocado & mango. My husband had a snowy grouper sauteed w/ shrimp, sscallops and a delicous herb butter. This was a wonderful stop on our way back from Key West. We will be back next year, Make reservations

Worst food EVER!!!! 1. Overpriced 2. Frozen not fresh fish 3. Worst service on the face of the planet. Waited about 45 minutes to get food.... On top of that, only left a dollar tip for such bad service and was CHANGED to $10 on a $35.83 meal!!!! These people are out to snag any penny they can pick up, and never deliver the portions that should coincide with the prices. Better off driving north 20 miles to Num Thai

Small, Pricey and not fresh
By ,
Being in the keys you would expect great local seafood made into sushi. We were highly disappointed. Sushi was served by the piece which was less than half the size of most other high-end sushi restaurants and priced at $6-8 for less than one ounce of fish. Fish was shipped in and frozen, not fresh. We were seated at the back of an empty restaraunt because we didn't have reservations. When there are 20 open tables you don't sit a walk in by the kitchen. We had to go out for fast food after paying $50 for what amounted to poorly portioned appetizers only. Don't waste your time.

Keep going back to the greatest Sushi around
By ,
This is one of my most favorite places to eat. My husband doesn't even ask me where I want to go, because I always say Kaiyo. He has to pick somewhere else or we end up there. Which is fine for both of us, because is has something for everyone and my favorite part is the sushi. I think I have tried all the fish you can get and even more when they bring in there specials. I know a lot of people don't like Sushi, but this place offers more then just that. It has real Asian appeal, when you first sit down they give you a warm towel to wipe your hands. The place looks great the staff is wonderful and the food is grade A. Like I said the best Sushi in town or anywhere else, but if you don't like sushi their dinners are grade A also. My husband doesn't like sushi, but he loves going there too. It is a definite have to try if are ever in the area.

A cut above tourist traps
By ,
In the keys it's sometimes difficult to find a place that cares about serving quality food. Often, the management is more concerned about running as many tourists through as possible. Some local spots are quite good, but the menu can be limited. Kaiyo strikes a good balance--relaxed ambiance and a reach towards interesting takes on fresh local seafood. Service can be a bit erratic--once it was horrible--but when everything comes together, Kaiyo is a good choice if you want something more than grilled fish but don't want to drive to Miami.
