The Le Tub Saloon
Nestled cozily behind a lush facade of trees on the North Ocean Drive, The Le Tub Saloon occupies the site of a former gas station. A secret among locals in the know, the establishment shot to fame when its burger was voted among the best in the nation by a leading magazine. The crowds have since increased at Le Tub, but the quality of the food and the unpretentious vibe remain. The menu offers a hearty choice of American specialties from barbecue pork and ribs to strip steak and sirloin burger. The seafood gumbo is also a favorite. Don't miss the delectable key lime pie, the only dessert offering on the menu. The wood-dominated interiors are a relaxed affair. The outdoor section, with lush foliage and quirky bric-a-brac strewn around is a favorite among patrons. Check website for more.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I have never written a review before, but this HORRENDOUS place cannot be ignored. The appearance of this restaurant is appealing, but CUSTOMER BEWARE. The waitress that we had seemed to be on another planet, was rude, and tried to refuse to take back drinks that were NOT WHAT WE ORDERED. We could hear her and the bartender yelling and arguing multiple times. She wasn’t able to tell us what sides the restaurant offered. She told us to just read the menu. They were out of various foods…no salads (out of lettuce), no burgers (that’s what they’re famous for), etc…By the time we were served the 3rd wrong drink, we asked to speak to the manager and she tried to refuse that, also. A big bearded man dressed like an average employee arrived and was the BIGGEST JERK! We are not convinced that he was the manager because he was SO RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. He was not willing to even listen to what we had to say and continued to walk away from us. That was the last straw and we asked for the check to pay for the one drink that we received that was right (bottle of beer). We told him when we were leaving that this was a horrible experience and he replied “Then don’t come back.” Now after reading the reviews, I see that this is common at Le Tub. I can’t believe that they are still in business, but CUSTOMERS BEWARE…LE TUB is LE WORST!
Well where should i start,,this place defines that bigger is not always better,,the food was mediocre at best ,,the burger was large low grade ground beef,,not seasoned and no flavor,,just very hot,,i had a bowl of chili that was described in the menu as homemade ,,but was just chili str8t outta a can and not even a good brand,,,and lets talk about the flies !!!!! wow the flies were horrible,,,the waitress however was very pleasant and apologetic about the atmosphere,,,the only bright spot in a dismal establishment,,,
IF YOU LIKE TO BE TREATED LIKE CRAP, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO. That is what Oprah should of said about this place!!!! Horrible Horrible service!!! Not worth going to ever ever again. So sad that the management could care less about customer service because it does have a nice view and it is a cute little dive. But the servers SUCK!! WE have gone twice we went yesterday 1/19/11 and it still sucks! It seems like the staff is trained to be rude!! I could care less what Oprah said about this place. It sucks big time!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT LE TUB!!!!! I will pay triple the amount anywhere else than to go there ever again!!!!
Horrible service, below average food, our server had an attitude so I asked the MGR for another one, she was a little better but she seemed mad that we complained about her friend. I went there with my family of 6 and im sorry to say that we had the worst $140 dining experience ever.
I'm not even sure where to begin, so i'll keep this short. My Latin American father, my indian friend, and my mexican friend walked into the bar and were immediately treated with disdain. the bartender was pissed off we came into his bar, and his really fat redneck friend called us names and threatened us. I am white, which shouldn't matter, but i was horrified. We kept completely to ourselves and were completely and constantly polite. It was scary to see this in 2010. We were eventually forced to leave the bar.
The ladies we were sitting next to were also horrified. It was disgusting
and shameful. I hope the owner is reading this because, wow. you associate with low class, redneck, racist garbage. you allow them to tend bar and you allow his fat disgusting friend to sit at the bar and insult people he doesn't like. it's one thing to be low life, uneducated, redneck, racist, fat pieces of low class garbage. it's another to actually insult other people. we were paying customers. i will make sure everyone i know hears about this.
Le Tub is the rudest place on the planet. As soon as we sat down a rude waiter came over, gave us our menus and told us it would be a 45 minute wait for everything. He returned 5 minutes later and told us we had 5 minutes to order, amongst other rude remarks and insults. A person at our table responded to him. He than told us to leave!! We didn't even try the food.
Great Food, Great View, Great Laid Back Feel. Food might take an hour, so relax have a glass of wine or beer or cocktail and enjoy watching the tarpon in the intracoastal and the beautiful view. The burger is worth the wait and they'll cook it any way you want! Bring cash because there are no credit cards accepted. There is an atm if you forget. Stay away from the cook/owner he's grouchy and everyone including the waitstaff know it.
We are the couples critics *(tm)...
We loved Le Tub! The food was phenomenal, the bugers & fries rocked our world. The beers and tequila shots added up, but only added to the great time! The staff was very interactive in facilitating a wonderful lunch atomosphere. The view is peaceful and always interesting. It's cash only but an atm is on the premisis.
We recommend it to all :) Can't wait to go back and try the key lime pie.
