Miyako is a genuine Japanese sushi restaurant. I lived in Japan for 10 years and find that this restaurant is the real deal. Their fish is fresh and the rice to fish portions are correct. Try their tempura plate; it is also excellent. The service is what you expect of a real Japanese restaurant. The decor reminds me of some of the best eats I had in Japan s back streets restaurants that cater to the locals.
My boyfriend and I love this place! First of all, when you walk in the door you are immediately greeted by friendly waitresses who tell you that you can pick anywhere to sit. Then right after you sit, they come over with menus and wet towels for your hands and take your drink order. Depending on the time of day you go, it might be more crowded and service might be a little slower but not by much. We usually go around 5 or 6 and get our food rather quickly. The food is spectacular. The sushi and row is so fresh and they give you generous portions. The miso soup and cucumber salad is delicious. Every so often a waitress or two will come over and ask how we're doing and if we need anything else (they never leave you wanting anything or waiting for them to come over). I highly recommend this place to anyone loving sushi and Japanese cuisine. You won't be dissappointed!
