The last reviewer seems to be very lucky. I tried this place last night and was very disappointed. I had a reservation and still waited almost 30 min. for seating. The chefs I watched were not at all entertaining and lacked any real skills for this type of restaurant. The food was hot and there was plenty (the egg rolls were fantastic), but the meat was very tough and lacked flavor. The rice was burnt and tasted it. I would not waste my money to return there again and would not recommend it to anyone. I am not a competitor and am actually here from Maui visiting. This place would not last a month where I live. Extremely disappointed....
It is clear that many of the reviewers are competitors running down the competition. Look, here's the truth--Makoto's is a VERY good restaurant--especially considering the price range. They are not cheap, but they are not as pricey as others mentioned in these reviews.
Their food is FAR above average. I would say excellent. Personally I have never had bad food there, but it can happen at any restaurant. Send it back. If service is bad, see the manager. On one visit of many, some things I got were not hot enough (ate in the bar side for lunch). They fixed the problem instantly.
This absolutely should be on your try it list.
I lived in Melbourne for years and love Makoto's the food an atmosphere is great these people that think Kobe even comes close are way out in left field there is no comparison. I now live in Tenn. and can't wait to visit Melbourne to go to Makoto's.
I have always loved makotos, But I have to say that Fujiyamas is 10 times better. The show is better, the food portions are better. I have eaten at makotos over 100 times but now that i found fujiyamas up wickham road next to the home depot heading towards viera, I will never eat at makotos again. The only thing good about makotos is the comedy club on saturday night.
Probably would have LOVED this place had I not been to Kobe In orlando prior to going here. Compared to Kobe the food was terrible.. I was close to leaving half way through the meal. If you like Makoto's then you will absolutely LOVE kobe in orlando.. There is one located on I-drive in orlando and one located right on Kirkman. Try it and tell me it wasn't a thousand times better. And if you are worried about price. Kobe is only a few more dollars a plate. It is absolutely amazing! you can also get Kobe beef which is delectable.
great food .... i actually craved this food when i was in New york have food a few close but none are as good. Salad dressing is the best bought it by the case to take back to NY when i went. Now if u sre ging for the show I have seen better but the food is amazing.
