I am super picky about my Chinese buffets, but this one seems to be the best in town. Pretty good value for the money, and I like it because it is clean, and the staff are pretty nice. I like their sweet and sour chicken!!
The food is not fancy, but is good and hot. Of all the Chinese Buffet's in Melbourne, it has the best food and the most consistent. I find the soup, appetisrs and vegetable dishes provide a good solid lunch
Within its genre, it offers very good quality for the money.
I visited Hong Kong Super Buffet a week ago, and I ordered Chow Mein. In addition to having a waitress that spoke neither Chinese nor English, the noodles in my Chow Mein were old and stale. My waitress did visit my table once after giving my friend and I our food, although she did pass by, notice that I had not touched my meal, and continue walking past our table.
I did not plan on paying for the horrible stale noodle meal, but my English got me nowhere with the restaurant manager. My Chinese-speaking friend argued with the restaurant manager on my behalf for a half hour, apparently introducing to them for the first time the concept of customer satisfaction and how in any other restaurant I would not have to pay for my food. The restaurant manager stated quite clearly that he does not care about customer satisfaction. Eventually, we reached a 'compromise', where I would pay the original bill and get lo mein to go. I didn't dare try the lo mein, and I'd recommend you stay clear of this place
