My buddy and I were in town for a recent convention, and we decided to visit the Sand Lake location. My buddy wanted seafood, and I needed to find something on the steak side (since I'm not a seafood eater). We're not wine drinkers, so I can't help you there - but we started off with Blue Fries for an appetizer. My buddy order All-You-Can-Eat breaded shrimp and I opted for the Prime Rib (my buddy thought the steak was huge - the waitress informed him there was one larger). Other than a mix-up on my sides (ordered pasta/rice but got a baked potato instead). Food was great, service was adequate (but then, we were in no rush to go anywhere - so it didn't irk us if we were somewhat ignored). The Key Lime pie was just what my palate needed to cap the dining experience. I'll definately try to return if I should find myself in the Convention Center / Universal area again in the future.
My wife and I decided to try 'Fishbones' in Lake Mary.. We were seated quickly in very small uncomfortable booths.. The food was very good.. The Ambiance was nice (fishtanks with live fish).. The seats felt like they tilted forward and the table was tiny..I complained to the waiter and he told me to take it up with the 'management'.. Do Not go as a couple if either of you is over 5 ft. 9 inches tall, the back of the booth will push your shoulders forward.. They don't allow substituting (i.e. rice for potatoes, etc..) Pricey, Pricey, Pricey and they will hustle you out if it gets crowded (maybe that's why the seats are uncomfortable??)
We have been to Fish Bones many times and I thought it was time to tell your head office that there are people such as us who really appreciate the fine food, service and atmosphere that your resturant provides. If we take people there for a special ocassion we can always count on everything being perfect. We live over an hour away from the Orlando site and we've never been disappointed. Thank you for the excellance of your resturant.
FOod was good. Tell the waiters to stop selling you the specials. Food was good. A variety of fish and meat. Food was good. Pleasant, but noisy atmosphere. Casual-very casual. Did I mention the food was good.
The service was amazing, the food was outstanding, there was no wait at the door and the atmosphere was wonderful. The wait staff was right on top of everything. Out drinks were ice cold. The crab legs are to die for!
Went to the Lake Mary,Fl location. Arrived at 5pm(the start of operating hours). We had to wait for 20 minutes, even though there were only a few customers there and then taken to a very small table. I asked to be moved to a larger table but was refused. When the waiter came,I again made the request and was moved to a larger table but with the worse location in the restaurant(looking out the window at the parking lot). Food was good but for my money,I would advise Bonesfish Grill. Better food and staff!
I travel to Orlando at least three times a year and Fishbones is a must each time. Whether traveling for business with friends or with my family of five, although it is expensive, it is worth it!
What isn't expensive in Orlando? You get what you pay for! Wonderful steak and the kids love it too!
The food was RIDICULOUSLY over-priced! I have never eaten a piece of salmon that costs $45! We couldn't beleive the prices when we got the bill. Horrible managers, completely over-priced, ugly atmosphere, and a complete waste of money. Save your self some time, and money, and DON'T EVER GO TO FISHBONES!!!
Dave the waiter and Ed the valet were great. The wine list was very pricey (400% over cost at least). The portions are big but so can be the bill. I experimented with Gator for the appetizer and found it too tough, too deep-fried, and bland (put some cajun spicy or red pepper in the batter). I had a surf and turf with the crab meat stuffed filet and lobster tail. Again, eveything was overcooked - don't know if it's sitting too long or what. Bill for two of us, wine, no dessert/no coffee plus 20% tip to Dave (who deserved it) @$200.
Good place, not great.
