I was in Orlando with my boyfriend for the New Year and we went to Amura after receiving a recommendation from our hotel. The service was unbeatable and the sushi was delicious! I have been to many japanese retaurants and know good sushi when I come across it. This restaurant had great sushi at a logical price. It was not cheap; however, for the quality it was well deserved.

I was an avid Amura customer until last night. The restaurant has no regard for its customers or the service they offer. I went with a group of 7 people. The whole night, we felt out of place. The table location was terrible (they had to create a table for us). Secondly, the server (I think her name was Debbie - ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE PERSONALITY), rushed us through our order. Salads on our table arrived at different times. But what annoys me the most is that tables seated after us, with more people were served their sushi first. Along with that, one person ordered a steak, and that arrived before any sushi arrived at the table. Until I told the server they had 2 minutes to bring the food out before we leave, none of the sushi came out. Then, when the sushi arrived, it came as a persons order, then a wait for 10 minutes, then the next person's order. It was a terrible experience. The dessert cake (which was complimentary) was cold. When I told the server that it was cold she refused to believe me. I told her to touch it. She refused. ARROGANT SERVER! I am totally unsatisfied after all her work. She added gratuity to the whole table, and I reluctantly paid. I don’t think she deserved any tip, and in fact, I believe the restaurant should have sent a manager to explain to my table, which waited well over an hour and a half for sushi, why it took so long. I will NOT be returning to the restaurant. I don’t think that you should spend your money here. Maybe you should try Rangetsu on International Drive. It may just be worth your while to stay away from this daiben-hole. On a side note, the owner who lives in Viscaya, doesn’t care about your concerns for the restaurant.

I was a customer of Amura's up until today. I placed five orders to go for a few of the employees at my firm, only to get back and find that we had been given the wrong dessert and then found pieces of some type of packet in the salads along with the skin from the onion. When I spoke with the Manager his resolution was to give me a chicken teriakyi and when I explained that I am allergic to chicken his response was well that is your choices, I am not going to waste time talking to you all day about it, you talk about being rude, then as if that was not enough he hung on me.

Great place

The food was really good and the staff was courteous and friendly. Even the manager introduced himself and asked about my experience at the restaurant. I would highly recommend this place.

Hands down best spot in Orlando!
By ,
I have many people from out of town come in and this is always the first place I take them. They usually go back within a few days because it is just that good. Anyone that says different must have burnt taste buds. I prefer the Church St. location and always receive excellent service. Would recomend to everyone!

AWFUL

I used to be a customer of Amura for many many years. When they were starting and struggling to grow I was there reffering all of my friends,co-workers,& family.Recently there has been a dramatic change in the service, food, and overall ambience. The owners forgot how to treat their V.I.P. customers. There is no longer a table waiting for you, as soon as you come through the door they treat you as if it were a fast food restaurant.Almost all of my friends agree that the employes & owners do not treat anyone the same way as they did when they first opened Amura. I am glad for this website, that i can voice my opinion and warn others of the poor quality service that Amura provides to their customers. P.S. All customers should be treated like V.I.P.'s especially if you are paying!

This is the best, at least here in Orlando!

People have been telling me for the last couple of years to try this place out. Well I finally did and it was great! I went with a friend who knows more about sushi than I do, he encouraged me to break out of my shell a little. We had a wonderful seaweed salad, a first for me, that had a tangy sauce and delectable thin sliced tuna. Then we tried a variety of hand rolls. The crab rangoon was great as well as the bubba roll. Word of caution, dont get the tempura sweet potato roll, it wasnt that great! The miso soup was the perfect starter, salted just right and flavorful. We did wait about 25 minutes to sit down, we opted for the sushi bar. The service was great, the decor modern and clean. The place was a little noisy, but that was because it was a busy Saturday night. The wine list was extensive and there is a mini display over in one corner that you can peruse if you desire. I saw some great bottles, but on this trip I didnt sample anything. Everything was wonderful and i look forward to going back again, like tomorrow night!

We love this place!

Maybe because we can't get a Mexican roll back in our hometown (Phoenix, AZ) but that tempura / jalapeno is really good. Prices, for sushi, are reasonable and the servings generous. Our first time here was last year and on our first night back to Orlando in a year, we ate here.
