San Jose's Original Mexican, Orlando

Delicious food, excellent service, fair prices. Leave room for dessert!!!

The best place for AUTHENTIC Mexican food. You can taste the freshness! For the beset Margaritas, you are going to have to travel another 20 minutes to Clermont where they have another of San Joses's. This one is much bigger and includes a full bar too! Highly recommend it!

Nice, showy, pretty atmosphere. All the typical Mexican stereo typical things hanging all over the walls. The wait staff is costumed to the hilt in Mexican peasant garb. I loved the little plastic mocajete the salsa came in, I just wish it would have had a little kick to it. The Margarita missed the mark, curious, I found out that these were wine margaritas. What a surprise. In search of the perfect Margarita for 30 years and get served a "Wine Margarita". The presentation of the food was very good. It looked just like real Mexican. I guess the Margarita summed up the way I felt about the food. Looked pretty good.

I love San Jose's! I lived in California for years and I know the difference between Tex-Mex and authentic. This restaurant is definitely authentic Mexican food. The prices are very affordable as well. I recommend you try the Fried Ice Cream for dessert!

Went there based on the reviews stating it was "authentic" Mexican with reasonable prices. NOT! We should have left when we saw a California burrito and Texas Fajitas on the menu. I ordered a chicken mole ($11.95) and it was so bad I had to send it back. I've had lots of mole dishes in restaurants all over including Mexico, and this tasted nothing like any I've ever had. It was so incredibly bland- the chicken tasted like it had been boiled in unseasoned water, the mole looked like thin brown water spooned over the chicken and tasted equally bland. I then ordered a pork in chile verde (again $11.95), which was OK, but again, nothing to rave about. I make it better myself. My husband ordered the Texas Fajitas which was barely OK, but hardly worth the $16.95 price in both quality and quantity. Their prices are very high for Mexican food, and $4.25 for a Mexican beer is ridiculous. I don't understand how anyone can rave about this restaurant. If you want really good authentic Mexican for a much lower price, travel a couple of miles west to Winter Garden. There's a bunch of them there, especially Tacos Jalisco, which admittedly has slipped in the last couple of years, but is still worlds better than San Jose's in terms of authenticity, taste and price. PROS: The owner is very nice CONS: Bland over priced food, overpriced beer

My coworkers and I come to San Jose's at least 3-4 times each month. Their lunch specials are quick, cheap and delicious! My favorite is the taco salad, and a nice, cold Corona cerveza! For dessert, try the sopapillas! They do need to expand the seating area, but hopefully word won't get out! PROS: The best food! CONS:

This is the real deal! Nothing fancy with the decor - probably relatives working there as well. But the food was fantastic. Try the slow cooked pork in a green chile sauce - wrapped up with soft and fresh tortillas. Too bad we're tourists - this would be a weekly must have. Margaritas were great as well.

San Jose's is a well-kept secret on West Colonial Drive in West Orlando. Nestled in a shopping plaza with American Signature Furniture, the Bed, Bath & Beyond, Ross, Marshalls, and many little stores, San Jose's is our favorite Mexican restaurant. Our all-time favorite is their rather unusual Sunday buffet; they have a wide variety of fresh foods with great flavors, and the prices are very reasonable. The staff is warm and friendly, and the outstanding level of cleanliness is impressive. A recent remodel inside allows for flexible seating for large parties. A MUST-VISIT! PROS: Tasty foods, great prices, friendly service CONS: Might need a larger dining room if the word gets out!
