a misrepresented taste of hongkong
1. Food is simply un-authentic. We ordered:
beef broccoli: the broccoli was soggy and so darkened. Too much oil
In authentic HK cuisine : the broccili must be
green and crunchy-ish
half a barbecued duck: the meat was so tough and blackened. The skin was oily soggy. The inside of bone and the cartilage were black from overcooking. Authentic HK cuisine: the meat must be white and soft, skin is dry and crunchy, bone inside is red. Cartilage must stay white and crunchy.
Rice: was too dry. Authentic HK : must have more moisture than what was served
In brief, food was just simply badly overcooked and over-used of soy sauce and oil
2. Service: Waitress had real problem with body odor. From the dining room, we could smell the kitchen . The restroom was filthy and stinky.
3. Decoration: looks like a cheap eatery, nothing exceptional.
4. Price: way, way overpriced for its food and service. Each entree cost $14-$15. Quantity of food was low. 4 bowls of rice cost $7. The restaurant
automatically added %15 tip to the bill, even though we were a party of 4, and our total ws around $40 before tax
--------
We found that this restaurant was unworthy for our time, money and taste-buds. We will never come back or recommend anyone to visit it.
Most importantly, please do not take the restaurant name as truth.
Its food does not represent good, authentic Hongkong cuisine in no way, shape or form.
