Lee & Rick's Half Shell Oyster
Description
For over fifty years, this family operated Orlando joint has been a local favorite for the freshest and the most delectable oysters. Warm and welcoming smiles of the counter staff, give just another reason for visits; but the amazing mollusks, crab cakes and oysters have been unanimously rated the best in town. Moreover, the prices are pretty low and you can just go on devouring the varieties not just because they are tasty. Equally cheap is the beer served here, best to go with the seafood. Special prices, lower than usual are offered during anniversary bashes, which is when the place is crowded.
My very first oyster was at Lee & Rick's in 1959. I was 5 years old and my didn't think I'd like them. I matched her dozen for dozen for over an hour. Raw or steamed or roasted it didn't matter. I live in Waycross, GA and saw a guy with a t shirt from L&R last year!!! So glad they are going strong.
First opened in 1950 as a nine stool establishment which only served oysters. Now has their 80 ft shucking bar where you watch the staff hand-shuck your oysters while you wait. This is an Orlando institution that should not be missed even if you just barely like oysters. Oysters do not get any better than this. Only world famous Lake Appalachiacola (that's a mouthful) oysters are used and they are brought in almost daily packed in ice. Also beer, wine, clams, crab, fish, shrimp.
Been living in Orlando for 17 years and yesterday was my first time going to Lee & Rick's. All I've got to say is OMG!!!! Never had oysters this good and the fried shrimp were also good. Will definitely be visiting more often. And many thanks to our shucker, David.
I've been going to Lee & Rick's for over 5 years and I will guarentee you that the those oyster will be the best oyster you will ever have. Service was awesome, make sure request for Jerry the asian shucker, you will be amazed by how fast he shucks your oyster and the service he give you. Visit Lee & Ricks!
an old rustic atmosphere that can't be duplicated. My personal shucker Debbie told me that it's been in the family since 1950 and the grand son runs it and his dad owns it. The best place for oysters in the country by far.I ate 2 buckets and my 2 kids had a bucket each. My kids think Eric the night manager is a comedian.

Great FRESH seafood, pretty good prices, but the atmosphere leaves a LOT to be disired. Soooo if your not to hung up on atmosphere then definetly try this place out.
