Le Coq Au Vin

Description

This fine French restaurant is located on a nondescript stretch of Orange Avenue better known for convenience stores than gourmet eateries. Inside, guests enter a world of romantic lighting, starched white tablecloths and excellent cuisine. You might begin with Onion Soup, topped with Gruyere cheese or an appetizer of phyllo dough stuffed with vegetables and cheese, and follow that with a grouper filet or a Black Angus steak.

Have been going there for 20 years can say our dinner there last night will be our last prices up 20% more than there menu on website shows charged an extra $3 for a little sauce on the side on a $37 steak that is an insult never happened with old owners Steak sent out over cooked had to eat after others were finished. Our guest from Indianapolis not impressed at all after we bragged about the place

French Cuisine with a very relax atmosphere.....Not pretentious....Quality Food has a price but it's so worth it......Efficient without the fake cheerfulness you get in some chain restaurants. If you're the type who likes food smothered in cheese or anything unnecessary this isn't the place for you. This is French cooking. If you like balance in taste, quality and flavor that marry then you got it!

Better than many meals I had in France. The souffles were great, boudin noir fantastic, and wines very reasonable.

Owner Sandy Pitz is the pits. Every time we come to Orlando we have eaten here. Never again. We waited over an hour for our table even with reservations and had to stand by the bathrooms. No apologies and we were not even offered water while we waited. Our meals were below par; steaks very overcooked. Much different than even a year ago. We told the waiter but again no response from the owner. Certainly not customer friendly.

we rely on Zagat for our restaurant choices we read the review for Le Coq qu Vin and felt we would give it a try.In the side bar, it states the restaurant is good for romance, quiet conversation, special occasions - not true. The food is excellent a well deserved 28 (along with Victoria and Albert's). However, the restaurant was so terribly noisy we could hardly speak to one another. I had a headache after my salad and just wanted to finish .

After reading the reviews we rushed right over to try this local favorite of many. We were terribly dissapointed. The building is old and musty, not charming, the booths tight, the food was simply OK and the service was average. In fact, this restaurant was just average. I have been to better chain restaurants truthfully. Save your money folks!

We went to celebrate my husband's birthday. And we were so pleased with the excellent food that we called the chef just to give him an applause. The service was impecable and the food was just perfect, full of flavor without being salty (we hate salty food). The price was very reasonable. We definitely will go back to this special place and we recommend the foie grass and the trout almondine.

Excellent dining experience... all 13 guests were pleased and wanted to return. The entres were cooked to order and the service, albeit slow, was good. We all would revisit next time in Orlando. Thanx

Exceptional restaurant, with incredible food. I could'nt believe I paid so little for this fine a meal. The onion soup was the best I've ever had. and the lamb was perfect. My wife raved over the bronzed fish and the meal was topped off by a light fluffy souffle. DON'T miss this gem if you are in Orlando
