Anyone looking for a good, all-day breakfast or a sweet homemade treat, plus lunches, dinners and weekend brunches, of course, will find a nice selection at Briarpatch. To get there, all you have to do is take a short drive north of Orlando to the friendly town of Winter Park. Briarpatch Restaurant is conveniently located on the popular Park Avenue and offers both indoor and outdoor seating in a cozy, old-time setting. The menu features a nice selection of American food, homemade ice creams and other tempting desserts as well as a number of drink specials including a variety of popular mimosas. - Diane Dilov-Schultheis
Having only ever eaten her at breakfast time we thought that the food was reasonable, price and quality wise. However, my husband and I had lunch there on Monday and whilst my food was poor and barely edible my husbands Burger looked good but unfortuately was laced with bacteria that has kept him in the toilet for the past two days. How can we be so sure it was the burger that caused it, it was the only thing he had to eat that day.....avoid this place at all costs.
Like Panullos, the wreck of a restaurant down the street, this place stays open because it's got a great location. The people you will see eating there either, a) are eating there for the first time, b) can't recognize bad food, or c) just want to see and be seen sitting on Park Avenue.
Only good for breakfast. I've been here plenty of times and almost everytime we come for lunch or dinner it has been bad. They are usually out of a few things, and then what we do get is subpar for Park Ave. But if you want breakfast this is amoung the top 3 in Orlando with Peach Valley and First Watch
A bunch of kids running the place with no supervision or guidance. We were given a filthy high chair for our daughter after waiting at the counter listening to the employees personal conversations (when we could have been seated by them).
You would think that every restaurant on Park Ave had got everything right. Unfortunately for the customers of the Briar Patch, this is not the case. The service is painstakingingly slow and impersonal. The food is mediocre to say the least and when we ordered Grapefruit juice it was Hawaiian Punch style rather than actual juice.
I strongly recommend against it.
