I have frequented many fine restaurants in my lifetime and my experience at Fishbones was horrendous. They profess to offer the finest ingredients on their menu. I would not say iceberg lettuce rates on the scale of exquisite cuisine to begin with, even for a house salad. I ordered the award winning Unicorn Fish and 3/4 of if was served raw. This was not a suisi dish which one would expect the fish to be raw...however the manager came over to ask us how our meals were and I explained being a cook myself...the fish is raw. He said they cook all of their dishes to perfection and would come back and check on our table...never happened. Poor management, poor service. High prices do not match the content of the food served. I would never go back.
I rate the place high simply based on atmosphere. Sitting out on the patio during Happy Hour is about as good as it gets. Open, nice breeze, good music, clean. Prices can't be beat during Happy Hour. Everything on their little menu is half price. One dollar for a tuna taco. Two bucks for sushi.
Quality of food is where I drop my rating to a 3. The presentation is first rate, but the food itself comes up short. Sushi is about half the size you'd find at Fuji or elsewhere. Tuna looks like it has coloring added to it. Still, don't get me wrong, for the price it's still a deal.
All in all, it's worth going and I'll be back.
This Fish Bones location has become a favorite spot for my wife and I as well as our son and daughter when they are in town. Service has always been outstanding and we have enjoyed attention from the manager. The steaks have proven to be consistently good and the lobster tail offering is magnificent. This restaurant is a proven winner.
We ate there with a large party (approx. 20) and experienced everything from sushi apps. to main course steaks and seafood and last ordered dessert. Everyone in the group loved their dinner and would return. I really enjoyed the fillet and I can be picky. Great restaurant, although the service was a bit slow.
An evening to enjoy (so i thought), i treated my family of four to a very nice 'elegant' dinning experience. When we arrived we noticed we greated by a very friendly hostess staff, and what looked to be a manager. Everything was exactly the way we expected untill we recieved our entree's. My wife ordered the crab cakes, which to our surprise, was very greasy and buttery. My prime Rib was very fatty and was not enjoyable what so ever! The manager, i believe his name was Paul, came over to 'do his job', and to evaluate the situation. I was shocked the lack of sincerity he did not have and could see right through it. Besides that, the service was excellent, and if it was handeled a little better, we might have a desire to return. Looking forward to the newest Morton's location opening up down the road! Thank you for your time.
Fishbones is excellent. You will be hardpressed to find a better restaurant in the area. Sushi is excellent, Steaks and anything off the grill is excellent. Entree's range from $14 to $50. We eat there about once a week and have never been disappointed. The filet is $33 and excellent. They also have a wide range of wines and specialty beers (like Chimay) that you can't find anywhere else. You *have* to have reservations, otherwise you will whine and cry about the wait. Understand that this place is busy, all the time.. and for good reason.
i love steak... but they had the worst steak ever.. whenever a resturant has to serve dipping sauce with their steak something has to be wrong... way over priced for such lousy food.. i would not recommend to anyone and i definately would NEVER go back.
Made reservations for 12 people for dinner Christmas eve 2006 for 5:30pm, when we got to the restaurant they did not have our reservation, we luckily had our confirmation number with us and presented it, they told us a mistake had been made and our reservation was forwarded to the FishBones on Sand Lake Rd. They tried to discourage us by being rude and inconsiderate. They gave us a terrible seating arrangement, which made serving very difficult. All 12 of us will NEVER go back.
