My girlfriend and I thought we would give this place a try...what a mistake. I should have known the type of evening it would be when I found out that the owner was also the cook. The only thing good about this place is the service. The food was just average and wasn't worth the price. I don't mind spending money on good food, however, I don't like spending it on mediocre either. The biggest complaint is that we stumbled across a discount coupon on the Orlando Sentinel's website, and the owner would not honor it, stating he didn't know how it got there. He should thank Orlando Sentinel for the business, instead billed me an over-the-top price for under-the-table food. I do not recommend this place to anyone as I, myself, will never go there again.
We bought our home in Altamonte Springs last year after living in downtown Orlando for 26 years. The people we purchased our home from recommended Sylvano's as they had lived in Altamonte for 15 years. They said it was absolutely their favorite restaurant. I had been in that center many times but never been in Sylvano's. It is now 1 of our 4 favorite haunts. The food is always freshly made and excellent! We have never had a bad experience, the wine is reasonably priced or they allow you to bring in your own. The service is wonderful, personal and very attentive without being irritating. We love it, i don't know what the two bad reviewers problem was but I couldn't disagree more and we regularly. The cheesecake is by far the best we have ever had and I am a big cheesecake fan so that says a lot. I think the 2 who gave it a bad review were having a bad night. I would also much rather give a local place my business than a chain.
My brother and his wife took us to Silvano's as they love it, and we thought it was great. The food was excellent, service was exceptional. We would go back in a heartbeat. Only thing I regret is passing on the cheesecake dessert!
I've been in the area for years and never knew about this place until recently. As a self proclaimed expert on Itailian cuisine and devout Italian, I have been impressed each and every time we've visited. The menu is diverse and the service is what you expect in the most posh of resteraunts. Even with a month between visits the server greets me by name. Chindanza !!!!
Think of Under the Tuscan Sun when dining at this fabulous establishment. The menu has everything from chicken to steak. The flavors of the food are a perfect medley of romance. His wife's cheesecake is divine and the portoin food given is great. Your not too full for that romantic walk around Cranes Roost. Thank you for the wonderful service I've received there.
