I don’t understand the hype. The mostly have sirloin steak. They have that at Golden Corral. They do have salads but, everything on it and everything else on the menu is mostly fried. There was nothing on the menu that every other restaurant doesn’t carry. I ordered the SMB Jr. Stogie Burger which was ½ pound and had mushrooms along with Swiss cheese. It came with either a potato or a salad. I choose a Cesar Salad.
The salad had huge pieces of lettuce that they didn’t even bother to cut up. The croutons and cheese in the salad tasted like it came from a box salad kit. The dressing tasted like an inexpensive grocery store kind.
The burger was good sized and cooked medium like I had requested. It was good but, it tasted like the burgers I have made at home on a grill. The bun tasted like a generic brand.
I had the worst server. The other servers were attentive to their tables. My server never checked back on me, never cleared my plates, and never gave me a refill even though she walked passed me several times. Another server noticed me sitting there with empty plates and tracked her down to give me my bill. Then I waited on her to process my check until she finally told me that I had to pay in the candy store. I had never been here before and didn’t know there was a candy store because I entered through the main entrance.
If the service was the only issue I would return. However, the food was just average. I would say it was a little bit better then Ryan's or Golden Corral.
