Food is good and the atmosphere normally is as well.
However, getting your credit card jacked and used in Puerto Rico is not. How do I know it happend here? Our party used 3 different debit cards, 3 different banks on the same Friday night here. Within 2 weeks we were all getting calls about charges at the Walmart and / or Walgreens in Fajardo, PR. File fraud complaints with bank and Visa, not much els we can do. Would seriously caution you about visting this restaurant.
If your looking for Mexican food like you find in Texas, this restaurant will not fulfill your craving! We moved here from Texas 9 months ago and have tried countless Mexican food restaurants in Kissimmee and Orlando and only one can claim to be TEX-MEX. Abuelos in The Loop is the restaurant you need to be looking up for the real deal. Hope this helps any true enchillada lovers out there!
Not sure how well Captain J knew this restaurant, but I have been eating there at least once a week for the past three years. It is the same exact owners, with the same servers that they have had for years. They did remodel the restaurant and change the appearance of the menu, but it is the same exact great food they have always served.
They have not sold out, or changed from making the same great food they always have. The interior does have a more modern appearance, but that is the only change.
CaptainJ i agree with you, after the remodeling something was different the menu looks like came from 1993 with all the weird graphics and new items that dont make sense it is like they are about to sell out and turn into a Don Pablos style chain restaurant. It is still good though. The entrees are a bit high priced for me, appatizers and the white queso(thats the real stuff, not the nacho shees style)are the bomb, good happy hour too $1 margaritas on sunday
Like so many other locals I fell in love with this place! I love taking the motorcycle, stopping in for dinner, and sitting on the patio. But then they either sold the place or tried to upgrade and they totally screwed it up. New workers with poor service. New menu that isn't nearly as good as the old. It's still good, but it is no longer great. I can't tell you how much I miss the old place.
