this place is ok. the fried chicken was good but the veggies were kind of bland. huge biscuits but kind of on the dry side. wait staff was mostly high schoolers and were more interested in talking to each other than working and serving customers.
Southerner's will understand... good down-home country-cooking and portions that will have you asking for a doggy-bag. I try to eat here whenever I make a trip into Niceville, and I usually bring a friend along. The only complaints I've ever heard are from non-southerner's who can't seem to wrap their mind around the quaint menu pronunciations or the mason jar glasses, although once I did have a miserable waitress who couldn't seem to get my glass refilled even once. But I digress. The food is awesome, and if you are a true Southerner you will appreciate being able to select fried chicken livers, fried green tomatoes, corn-on-the-cob, red beans and rice, and corn bread just to name a few. My favorite dinner, though, is the fried whitefish dinner with hush puppies and a side of fried okra. And before you heart healthy people have a fit, yes, you can order most items grilled instead of fried.
