Maude's Classic Cafe, Gainesville

so cute, location is great, especially on farmer market day, coffee okay (request organic) but the espresso leaves much to be desired. the kids who work there are not very with it, but it is a good hang out.

I LOVE this place! Its downtown near the Hipp and well worth passing by Starbucks for! They have amazing coffee and lattes, as well as dessert items and coffee treats. The vibe is unique, artsy and cool. The location is amazing, it is great to sit outside and play a board game with friends in one of the hippest parts of the city. I cant say enough...this place is awesome - the best coffee shop in town.

I've been to Maude's many times for dessert, but it wasn't until a few months ago that I realized they have a dinner menu, too. It's basically sandwiches and salads, but I will say that they are some of the best sandwiches around. Surprisingly great prices, too, since the half sandwich order usually fills me up. The sweet potato quesidilla was really yummy (even my husband who doesn't like sweet potatos thought it was good). They have both vegetarian and meat selections. Give their food a try, but save room for coffee and dessert, too!

Maude's is an artsy cafe in the middle of downtown Gainesville with free gameboards to play with, a top location, outdoor seating, and a yummy selection of desserts and coffees. I personally am not much of a coffee drinker, so I recommend the Berliner - coffee of the day, plus ice cream and whipped cream! Not only are you getting great coffee and a great experience, you're also supporting a local business.
