My gf and I went to Sawamura for our first date, we are both very familiar with Japanese steakhouses. We were seated immediately, and sat with one other couple waiting for our chef. He arrived promptly, and the show began. He was very friendly and explained as he cooked. Portions were generous, and the bill was under 40 dollars for the two of us, excluding tip. Not a bad deal at all, considering we had beer ( me) and sake ( her), soup, salad, and steak, chicken and scallops. I plan to take her there again, as the entire experience, from being served, to being cooked for, to being brought the bill and walked out was pleasant.
This is the best Japanese food in gainesville and the dipping sauces can not be beat. My wife and I have been eating there for the past 12years, the owners, servers and chefs always make you feel welcome and you get both quality and quantity for your money...
Small place, quaintly decorated. Not wheelchair friendly at all - steep inclines/ramps. Waitress & chef were friendly and efficient. Good food. We went at 5:30 on a Saturday night and got right in. It was approximately $20 per person including tip.
Sawamura is awesome! The only thing holding them back is the atmosphere. The rooms are chopped up and the decor' is dated. Let's talk about the food -- wow! I loved the steak...excellent. My kids loved watching dinner get cooked and enjoyed the chicken.
Best Japanese Steakhouse in Gainesville. Not only is the food great, the value is even better. Early bird specials start at $10 before 7 pm. Even if your a bit late, their prices are still lower than competitors. Never had to wait and is less crowed than most. I'll always come back.
This place is so cool to go even for kids. The cheifs are very professional and they are great with kids also. Food is very tasty. Unbelivable serivce I mean very promt to everyone's needs. I truly love going to this place.
