Mellow Mushroom, Destin

The host was rude who seated us. He slammed menu's down on table and walked off muttering our waitress would be with us. Salads were very yummy but they are meal size. I enjoyed the build your own salad. Pretzels and Hoagies were great. Our Waitress was awesome awesome. Good rock music and a cool laid back place for a saturday afternoon lunch.

A local referred us to the Mellow Mushroom-sat at the bar area-very very good service. Draft beer seletion is awesome, Pizza variety goes from plain to wild-depends what your in the mood for. Hand tossed-kids liked watching that part. Good crust and toppings. A notch above the chains.

I was not tremendously impressed with the Mellow Mushroom in Destin, Florida. My children had bragged so much on the one in Birmingham, AL. that we decided to try it. It was way over priced and the pizza was greasy. My granddaughter said her calizone had funky tasting mozzarella cheese and pulled it out. They forgot our appetizer and we had to ask for refills on drinks. In addition to that it wasn't very clean looking.

I love mellow mushroom, but this one visit i will never forget. They put us in the worst table ever, by the kitchen, the waitstaff were cussing up a storm back there, our food arrived late, it was cold, our waiter didnt even really wait on us i had to get up and ask someone for everything. It was probably the worst eating expierence of my life, and i might never go back to another Mellow Mushroom.

Pizza is very good, particularly for this area. Its a bit on the expensive side though... expect $20 for a medium-sized pie with a topping or two.
