Pepitos Mexican Restaurant, Destin

We discovered this place by accident while shopping nearby and waiting for a Destin traffic jam to clear. At first we figured it was another hole in the wall but how back could they mess up tacos and chimis? We were surprised at how good the food was for a casual place and how MUCH they gave us. We couldn't finish it all. We've been back many times, commenting to friends about the find and hearing that yes, didn't we already know how good they were? Margaritas are good, too, as a preliminary to the movie theatre next door.

Visited on 2/13 around 6:30pm. I had the number 26 and my wife had the number 25b. Basically, she had three cheese enchilada's and I had 4 ground beef stuffed enchilada's covered with a red sauce, lettuce and tomatoes. She had a glas of sangria and I had a Dos Equios beer, dark. The waiter was nice, moved quickly and the food came very quickly and was fresh. The only issue we had with the place is this: Their website says Tuesdays are buy one and get one for half price. THat's part of the reason we went. My wife asked the waiter about it when we placed the order and they said tonight was not the night. He checked with someone that looked like a manager (?), and they confirmed the same. We ordered anyway. Later, he came back to tell us we were correct----it was buy one and get one half off. We enjoyed our meal and the check came. The check was showing the full amount. We pointed it out to the cashier and she corrected it. Simple mistake? We hope... Food was good, service was good and we'd go back. Hopefully next time we'll all be on the same page about the discounts that night.

This IS the best place for Mexican food. Why? Because the Mexican Community eats here! If they like you'll like. VERY fresh ingrediants. Elisio and Jose are the best!

I love Pepitos because no matter what time I go there service is fast and friendly. It is also quite affordable no matter your budget and family friendly. If you like good food for a good price I recommend Pepitos

It was one of the best mexican places I ever ate at. So good that we ate there twice while we were in Destin. Huge portions and excellent margaritas.
