The food is not great, but it is not awful either. The food had a very salty taste, and it did not taste all that fresh. The service could have been much better as well. We have had much better Mexican food at La Hacienda. As far as the atmosphere goes, La Hacienda is like a fiesta and Monterrey's is like a siesta. While this place is not an overall horrible place to dine, we won't ever eat there again.
My first time to dine at this grill was a good experience. Good food, excellent margarita, good service......so I went back. Second visit I had a piece of glass in my salsa that cut my mouth up...mgmt offered to send me to the hospital and there was no charge for my meal but still.......Finally yesterday decided to give it another try, you know, things happen, maybe it wasn't their fault about the glass. As I sat sipping on my frozen margarita, I noticed a dark spot in my friends drink. Pulling the spot to the side of the glass with a straw it became horribly clear, it was a dead cockroach. I thought I would puke, you know that bug had been swirling in the vat that all those frozen drinks come out of....for God knows how long. NEVER AGAIN. Only for those that need the extra protein that roaches hold!!!!!!!!!!!!
