Four of us went to eat, Sat. morning about 10:30. Place was busy and we had a ten minute wait. We ordered beignets and they were excellent except the powdered sugar was not high quality. We had to ask our waitress to take our orders. Three of our party ordered breakfast and I ordered the club sandwich. Our wait was over 50 minutes for our meals. We complained to our waitress about the wait and others around us who were seated and ordered after us had recieved their food. She said the cooks filled their orders first because they could get theirs out faster and that well...I had ordered a sandwich. Please since when do you fill an order before others just because it was simpler...those people had ordered full breakfasts also AND are you telling me that it takes more time to make a cold lunchmeat sandwich? Our pancakes were terrible, my bread was barely toasted and my fries were lukewarm. We won't go back. Food just wasn't that great and the wait and the excuses didn't fly. It was busy but it's such a small restaurant I just don't think they have it together.
Went there for brunch on 2/21/10. Beignets were outstanding, the Napoleon egg and andouille sausage pastry is great and the hashbrowns with cheese and tomato on them are delicious. The pancakes were a little too thick and not tender. Their crabcakes are so good they were sold out by noon. We did not try their burgers (GOB's) or other sandwiches but they sure sounded good. Prices are very reasonable, service was good but restaurant is small and would be very noisy when filled.
This place looks pretty small once you get up to it. It's hard to think you're going to have a phenomenal meal here at first glance, but boy-oh-boy! I have been back several times since my first GOB (the good ol' burger!), and I have to say that THIS place is THE place to eat! It's like Pensacola's best kept secret. The fries here are to die for. My personal fave so far has to be the rueben, absolutely the BEST I've ever tasted. Give CJ's a try and you won't be disappointed!!
