Odd, my rating from a few years back is missing! So here is a recap! This place used to be great...used to be! The last two times I went (yes I gave them a second chance because of prior satisfaction) the food, service and everything else was sub-standard! The last time was over two years ago, but it was so terrible that I am not going for the third strike anytime soon. I really don t know why they are still open, it surely has nothing to do with the locals, nor any return tourists! This was one of two of my favorite places to eat out 5 years ago, not anymore! Just plain sucks now!
DO NOT GO HERE!!! Although the food was good, I had a horrible dining experience. The chef had very little character and was quite boring. When serving my vegetables, he missed my plate and spilled them all over me. The grease ruined my skirt. The chef and manager gave very little apology and only took $8 off of my bill after I complained. The manager also proceeded to tell me that he was going to dock the chef's pay and then accused me of not tipping the server. Extremely rude!!! Another customer at my table never received his chicken, the chef just forgot to serve him. Although the food was good, the portions were skimpy and the overall experience will keep me from returning.
My family and I have been going to Mikato's since they opened, it was a great place to eat, wonderful entertainment from the chef's and my kids really enjoyed it. I've noticed since the passing of Mr. Lee that the service and food has gone way downhill. You no longer get shrimp appetizers as the computer states, the water glasses are no longer at each placesetting, if you want water you have to ask. The shrimp was hard, must have been frozen, the vegetables were very few, the chef's act like they are scared to smile. Maybe someone there will realize how bad things have gotten and turn it around to the restaurant it was in the past. Mr Lee must be spinning in his grave.
Service was terrible and we did not get our entire order, ( but we were charged for the entire order ). This was corrected after we pointed it out to our server. Maybe if the sushi chiefs were paying a little more attention to their work and less time to the Television they would have gotten our order correct.
If you like bad service and Americanize Japanese food this is the place for you.
My children and I had a wonderful dinner at Mikato at the grill and had some fabulous Sushi! On our visit the restaurant was clean, the wait was just 15 minutes and our service was great. The entire meal plus sushi and drinks for 4 of us was just under $75 which was amazing compared to what I normally pay in Atlanta.
I have been to this place three times with a variety of problems each time. I am insane for returning, hoping each time that it will be ok. The last time we were in PCB we went to Mikato. After our waitress brought our drinks and took our order, we never saw her again. Ever. Nobody to check on us, nobody to refill our drinks as we had drank them and the melted ice with our meals.
This time the sushi chef was rude. My date says he debated her about her diet while I was in the men's room, and he made us reuse a sushi plate to give us. The tamago was an odd shaped chunk of scrambled eggs, not correct and not appropriate to serve. Our waitress forgot my salad.
I am highly suspicious of some of the positive reviews on this site with similar poster names, no caps, and similar grammar and spelling errors.
I will never go there again. We had four roaches crawl across our table while the chef was trying to cook. I went and told the manager I was leaving and would not pay for my food. I left there feeling like I had bugs crawling all over me. The worst part is the manager said he knew they had a problem. The owners should close down until they can get this under control.
