JUST ATE AT MONTEGO BAY AND IT WAS AWESOME! IT IS SMALL, NOTHING FANCEY BUT FOOD IS GREAT! WE ATE LUNCH AND I GOT BLACKENED TILAPIA, CHEESE GRITS, & COLLARD GREENS. MY HUSBAND AND DAUGHTER ORDERED THE MAHI MAHI, AND MY SON ORDERED POPCORN SHRIMP. IT WAS ALL GREAT... WE WILL BE GOING BACK TOMORROW. OUR SERVER WAS CINDY AND SHE GAVE US REALLY GOOD SERVICE. VERY REASONABLE PRICE. BEST MEAL WE HAVE HAD WHILE IN P.C.B. JUST HATE WE DISCOVERED IT RIGHT BEFORE WE HAD TO LEAVE.:)
We have stayed at PCB for the last 3 winters and this is our favorite place to eat and have cocktails.Their wine ($1.25) per glass and beer ($1.25) per pint. is the best on the strip.
Great food and value for the price.
Food was fried and uninspired. Coconut shrimp was the only outstanding item. Our service was horrible. Our server, Ted, who appeared to be a career server, was unattentive and unapoligetic for his deficiencies.
We ate here twice this week. Dinner was very reasonable especially if you like fried seafood. They have a fried seafood platter around $13.00. The child's fried popcorn shrimp is mounded high with shrimp. The grilled Mo' Better fish was also quite tasty.
Lunch was less accomodating. For children you had to get fries and I couldn't substitute fries either on the adult meal even though they offered tons of vegetables. Wait, let me rephrase that you could substitute but only with their choice of veggie so that was cole slaw and green beans. I even offered to pay more and there was no reduction in price... you just had to buy the side. Whatever.
I would still eat here again but if you are particular about how and what you will eat you might try some place more accomodating.
The Shirley Temples and ranch dessing were good. My son liked the hush puppies.
Web site was fancy but the restaurant was not. Very small and comparable to a local spin on a seafood version of a Waffle House or a Diner. Don't expect water side dining.
That aside, I was really impressed with my dish. For $10.00, I had grilled tilapia, 4 large grilled shrimp, cup of black-eyed peas and a salad with crackers. The side salad was lame, but I did see other people with their version of a house salad that looked a lot more appetizing. They even catered to my request for no oil or butter. They were out of raw oysters, but for $12.00 drink included, I'll go back.
This is always the last place my wife and I eat when we are getting ready to leave PCB. Last time we have shrimp salad sanwiches with seafood bisque and gumbo. All very good and inexpensive. Planning to try dinner menu next time.
Our family visited week of 10/5/2007. the best seafood found during our stay. Prices were exceptionally reasonable and the food delicious. our service outstanding. don't waste your time going to the other places. Once you eat here you won't want to go anywhere else.
Very small dining room. No atmosphere.
Waitress was just barely friendly.
Hushpuppies were grossly stale.
Steak was tough.
Jamaican shrimp was just OK.
Too much money for what you get.
