When I travel to Florida I always take the Apalachee Parkway from Tallahassee just to go through Perry, Florida. It is a charming town. But I wouldn't bother going through it if it weren't for Goodman's; America's best pit barbeque. Their barbeque beans are so good that I usually order a quart to go. But their ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender and delicious. I only take people I really like to Goodman's. it is too good for mere acquaintances.
And, remember, always ask for the free cobbler with your meal.
I'll never go there again! The food was not that great and the service was horrible. The place was crowded and it seemed that locals took precedence over out-of -towners. Not to mention they were understaffed and the place was dirty. I felt very uncomfortable while I was there.
Wasn't expecting to find a place like this in such a small town. The BBQ was exceptional. There were also items on the menu for those who don't care for BBQ. The service was great, waitresses were very attentive. The place was very cleverly decorated in a country theme without being tacky. You could tell that this was the place to stop, all of the locals were there. Big town value at a small town price. We will be sure to stop again when passing by.
