Cypress Restaurant, Tallahassee

Beware: raw food & horrible service! Literally raw steak served (asked for med-rare), took 3 hours to arrive, during which we saw our server 3 times total. The manager offered a free "meal" to make up for this bad experience, but when we called to book a res., we were offered only an entree. When we politely expressed dissatisfaction at this offering, the manager LITERALLY told me: "I rescind my offer and I hope you don't come back," and hung up on me. We will NEVER set foot in that restaurant again.

If you are looking for traditional Paella, this is not the place to go. I thought I finally found a place that served a true traditional dish. I was expecting seafood mixed with Spanish rice and for $36 dollars a plate I expected a lot more then I was served. My description of the dish was a small bed of risotto. On top, there was with a small split lobster tail, a few scallops, a few shrimp, a few small pieces of sausage with julienned strips of onions. Although everything on the plate was cooked perfectly, I still was hungry when I left the restaurant.

The most amazing restaurant in Tallahassee. I dream of their truffle mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked fillet. The atmosphere is terrific and service pretty great. Try to cheese plate!

This is my favorite restaurant to take out-of-town guests. The closest thing Tally has to fine dining, the food and service are both excellent and the menu is creative.

We had our wedding receiption at Cypress 4 years ago..everyone had a great time, the food was Great!!!!!!!!!!!and we have been going there for our anniversery every year!!!

Food is phenomenal and the wait staff very attentive. Wife and I went for our anniversary. Will definitely be going back!

This is our favorite restaurant, great atmosphere, friendly staff, great food, and we love being able to make a reservation for dinner. We obsess over the great wine & beer selections and the food portions are perfect! The owners are always super friendly and the staff very helpful! The Best Restaurant in Tally!!!

Wow!! The food was irresistable! The Filet was perhaps one of the best I have ever eaten. The crab-cake tower was fantastic. The service was a little slow, but the food was absolutely amazing.

My husband and I both have birthdays in the same month and we will schedule one special day to celebrate. Last night we went to Cypress and I must reveal that this is the first time I can remember not requesting a "doggy bag" to take the majority of my dinner home. It was too tasty to leave even a tiny morsel! We ordered quite a bit of food...we didn't want the experience to end. We started off with the crab tower and foie gras, then the ribeye and filet, on to the key lime donuts and cheese plate. Of course we had the appropriate drinks to enhance the experience. We each thought our steaks flavorful and cooked perfectly...I especially enjoyed their house steak sauce. The service (by John)was timed appropriately. We were allowed time to visit and enjoy the experience without any "stall" time awaiting the next dish. We immediately agreed, as we left the restaurant, that this may become a habit for us...sometimes just to drop by for cheese and drinks or a late night dessert and drinks in the bar area. As you can see, we enjoyed the experience from the moment we walked in the door!

We went for appetizers & wine. I agree that service was slow, even for something as simple as a cheese plate & wine. It was nice, but I have seen this restaurant advertised as 'fine dining', and it's just no way near that. Not the place to go for a quiet, romantic meal out, or even quiet, for that matter. Compare the atmosphere with Bonefish, only smaller. I would probably go again, though it wouldn't be my first choice. Just expected so much more.
