Village Inn, Jacksonville

Went there on FREE PIE Wednesday with the understanding that we could get a Free slice of Key Lime Pie even though the special was technically for free fruit pies, our server from a prior visit assured us that it would be okay if we got Key LIme Pie if we came back on Wednesday. Well when we got there the server who told us we could get free key lime pie on the special was off and the server we had (she was very abrasive and unfriendly) said she had to talk to the manager about it. The manager said it he would let us get key lime pie this time, but made us feel like we were heels for asking for it....The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and to top it all off the key lime pie was not that good. We will never go there again, might write corporate too and let them know who management at that particular store is ruining a once good restaurant by being very petty. The whole wait staff smells like cigarettes too.

Great food and great service every time. We have a sixteen month old and the waitress always gets it that we cannot exactly take a leisurely breakfast. They get us in and out really quickly.
