Relaxing atmosphere even when packed, The sweetest hookah's and filters you can find, Very good wait staff always attentive and social, they even sit down and talk with you and smoke a little hookah with you. The price is nice and cheap great for a stressful day of work or a night of relaxing with friends, sit down, grab a beer, smoke some hookah and RELAX!
seriously my husband and i thought the food was one of the worst we've ever had. we've had this type of middle eastern food many times before and this was awful. but fun belly dancing, great hookahs and drinks. i'd recommend for a fun night out but not to eat!!
I dont see what was so great about the restaurant? We had to wait for more than 30 minutes for a table. Then we were given a table which was on the way. We got bumped by several people. One guy broke a hookah after bumping into us. The wait staff had long gaps between coming to our table.
Even the food was ok. We had veggie stuffed grape leaves and chicken kabob. The grape leaves were tad too sour. The chicken kabob was good but the seasoned rice that accompanied it was not upto my expectations.
Went to that place as I was new to that place. Suggested by a friend.
'll go back or not? Maybe for the food.
-The Sahara Cafe.. is a great place to meet up with friends...
its crowded tuesdays with the 1/2 off hookas and wednesday with the 1/2 off beer...
-Farras.. the owner/propieter knows many customers by name and takes the time to mingle with new people.
-The staff... OMG.. where do all these beautiful women come from??? Kat- working on her degree to be a rocket scientist at NASA, Wendy- Oh lord ever been enthrawlled by looking into someones eyes, her degree in philosophy is well earned and she is quite versed, Crystal- A complete ray of sunshine, beautiful and pleasant to be around, Abeir - What a beautiful woman (currently on vacation in Europe must be nice), Charolette- Shes like Beemer driving Barby and what a dancer..
-The food, has a medateranian flair .. so if you like humus, lamb, dohma youve made it to the right place.. they also have american food to . their steak fries and chicken strips are good too.
-Enjoy the belly dancer i think she is there on fridays..
-The hookas last about .. 45min-1hour with 2 people on them enough time to enjoy some of the interesting beers that they have on tap ..
-If you goto UNF or FCCJ youll probably see some of your classmates there.
-The one drawback is price.. hookas are normally ~14$ and a tall beer which is about 2 pints is ~5$, personally they have one beer there.. i believe its bluemoon not sure but its served with an orange slice.. and it reminds me of bathroom soap so be forwarned.
Sahara cafe and bar is NOT your average restraunt. It is filled with a warm, family environment, exotic food and surroundings, and most of all...FUN. It is basically the kind of place that you don't just come to once. It is the type of place that becomes your hang out spot until you are there everyday, no matter what your age.
