Tucked away at the corner of Baymeadows and San Jose Boulevard, this authentic Greek and Italian restaurant called Mediterrania Restaurant, offers guests a chance to really test their appetites. Portions are hefty and the courses seem to keep coming from the kitchen. Stuffed grape leaves, mussels, calamari, New Zealand lamb and Angus certified tenderloin are featured, along plenty of intriguing seafood entrees. Plus, you will find numerous Italian staples like lasagna and Chicken Picatta.
Went here for NYE with my husband. Started with the stuffed grape leaves - DELICIOUS!! Salads again then he had Chicken & I had a seafood pasta - both dinners where huge, hot, & very tasty.
I love talking to the wait staff too. Many are from different parts of Europe & having visited in college I enjoy that.
It was a perfect NYE. :)
I went at lunch, a very busy time. I was waiting on a friend to join me. I was still seated at a table, made to feel at home, no rush. My friend was running late and there wasn't any pressure for the table (however, I felt badly). It was wonderful to sit and have a glass of tea, roll and read while I waited. The Food was talapia, Greek style. It was the daily special, reasonably priced and tasted great. Not to mention the Humas, fantastic.
Thanks to all for a wonderful dining experience.
We dine at the Mediterrania about 4 times a year ( past 10 yrs ) and have yet to have a bad meal. The rack of lamb is my favorite, with the filet minon a close second.
The owner and staff are hospitable, and
the prices reasonable. Don't expect an overly
lavish environment, however the decor is pleasant and quaint. It appears to be a
favorite location for people 40 + ( very
few children ever seen )
I always come here for my birthday and am never disappointed. The staff is courteous and friendly, and very knowledgeable. The food is to die for! Great lamb (tender and juicy) and wonderful authentic greek traditional food (try the stuffed grape leaves!). It will always be our special place!
The food was rather bland, oily, and creamy - and overpriced. Perhaps that's just my impression of Mediterranean food; however, I have had better...One of the soups tasted like they just dumped it out of a Campbell's can.
