Sam Won Garden Restaurant, Jacksonville

I lived in Korea for 3 years and was dying for some hanshik. My friend told me about this place. My mom and I tried it today and it was soooo good. My mom had the LA Galbi and I had dolseot bibimbap. We also ordered mandu and japchae as apps. The banchan was really good too. I can t wait to go back and eat more to satisfy my Korean cravings.

Wow, what a Great restaurant. Everything I ordered was delivered fast and hot. The tastes were incredible. The portions were large, the service was simply outstanding. I couldn't have ask for a nicer atmosphere, food or service anywhere. This is a must go to restaurant, whether you live in Jacksonville or simply visiting. You will not be disappointed. Thank You!!

Best Korean meal we had in Jacksonville. Great food & Good service they are friendly and reasonable prices. wide selection of Sushi well. The sushi was good too. The spicy Tuna was incredibly spicy,If you like spicy I recommend. Kalbi and Bulgoki was best Korea food ever.

Best Korean place in Jacksonville-- the food actually has a taste other than soy sauce-- easily beats the chain Japanese steakhouse restuarants everywhere.

The best Korean food ever. Bulgogi and galbi has exceptional flavor and kick. The kimchee is exactly like it is in Korea. All the sides they bring out make a authentic korean cuisine. And the sticky rice is awesome. U will not regret dining here. Wide selection of sushi and beer as well

Having been to Korea in the military, I know authentic Korean food when I taste it. This place is authentic! Their bulgoki is served on an oval metal serving pan, and is simply HEAPING with sweet, savory, bulgoki. I was used to eating it on a bed of white rice, which has to be purchased separately. The yakimando is exactly like I remember it, and the first time I've had it stateside where it was done correctly. They also have a kimche sampler that has the most popular varieties, including the traditional cabbage. Their pulgoki is also excellent, though very spicy. I have visited several times, and they never fail to impress. The waitstaff is professional and courteous, the portions large, and the taste devine. I simply cant recommend this restaurant enough! The only negative I could even think of giving is that the prices are a bit high...but one mouthful is all you'll need to justify the bill!

went to this korean restaurant with high expectation that I will be eating authentic korean food here in Jax. Unfortunately I was disappointed, there's no place like Hawaii when it comes to variety of food especially KOREAN, JAPANESE, CHINESE, VIETNAMESE and THAI cuisine... oh well I wish they make their KALBI a lil better

Unfortunately, Jacksonville isn't known for it's great selection of culturally diverse foods. However, unknown to many lovers of Korean food is this little jewel on the edge of University Boulevard. I've been here many times, and being of Korean decent my judgment of good Korean food is based off of my own mothers cooking. Although no one will ever cook like mom I have never been disappointed by their food or service. Great job guys! ~Nae

I often go to Sam Won Garden. The atmosphere feels like home to me. The food is amazing, and the servers are really kind people. The restaurant is very authentic. They even play nice korean music. If you've never had korean food before but like japanese cuisine, they also offer sushi and sake. That way you can have something familiar and also order something new. Their lunch menu is great too. The only thing i would change is the size of the restaurant. It's a bit small.

Great stuff. Sometimes, it feels like the Korean customers get preferential treatment, but it's probably more a comfort zone thing with the Korean wait staff than anything else. Definately worth it. We live about 30 minutes away but still manage to get there once a week. Highly recommended.
