European Street Cafe
Located in the San Marco shopping district, this restaurant features European flavors with the accent on German cuisine. A causal, deli-style menu makes this a popular spot for a quick bite. Try a giant stacked deli sandwich. There are more than 70 varieties on the menu to choose from! You will also find 10 cold salads and an array of soups, including beer cheese and split pea. Glass display cases are filled with desserts. The cafe features more than 100 types of imported and domestic beers, and a modest selection of wine, too.
Good food great prices. Most all of the European style meals are less than $8. AND they have Happy hour from 5pm to 7pm, that's 2 for 1 drafts beers and they have some fantastic beers. Super place to take family or friends and not go broke. There are 4 locations and we like the Park St best. If you go there tell Bill (manager) Berny says Hi
Our small group has attempted meetings here for the past few months. But no more. We've had it with the bad attitudes of the servers. Our waitress was unbelievably rude in manner, address, and service. She pointedly ignored us most of the time, then took a special moment to berate us because the wait staff had failed to seat the section to her satisfaction. She actually talked badly about us to other customers in the same room. Our discussion group will NEVER return to this location after being treated so poorly. The management made no attempt to remedy the situation.
Went for appetizers and wine and really enjoyed the Brie and apples appetizer! Will be going back soon!! Had a good Reisling wine and shopped in their gift area afterwards. A nice atmosphere for some ladies who want to go out for some wine and appetizers for happy hour...
The riverside location is typical of any cafe I have visited with one exception:
The food was awful and over priced. I ordered the German Sampler and it was terrible. I have never had a bratwurst that tasted so bad. The German potato salad
was runny, not home made and probably came out of a can. The sauerkraut was just as bad. The worst french bread I ever tasted. My husband ordered a Rueben sandwich on sourdough bread. It was not grilled and was not very substantial. The best part of his dish was the pickle! Sandwich came with stale chips. The beer selection is good, the atmosphere is nice, the service okay. The food is not. Will not return.
