Went there for dinner 0n 10/07/11. Accidentally left my credit card with the paid bill. When I went back fifteen minutes later it was found in one of the servers pockets. The management just blew me off. Will not be back!!!!
I have been eating at Corky's for the past 5 years and it has always been excellent. You can tell by the always packed parking lot that it is a good place to eat. Their Shrimp are to die for and the big wide green beans cooked with potatoes and real meat is very good. I love sitting outside by the river and often share my food with a special little squirrel that hangs around. The staff is always very nice and the food is GREAT!!!!!
The service was amazing. The food was terrible. Canned green beans, canned greens....frozen jalopenos...the stuffed shrimp w/ crab still had the shell and tails on. The crawfish were so over cooked. There was no juice in the heads and the tails had to be treated like lobster to crack open. The kids shrimp meal was so tough that you could have used the shrimp as a bouncy ball. The fries for the kids were even cold. I guess as long as you serve every thing w/ ranch dressing, it will be fine?
Went there for my birthday this Saturday around 2pm, turned out to be a BIG mistake! Was told the wait would be 30 minutes for outside seating. Usually we would only have to wait 10 at the most when we went. While we waited we decided to hit the bar for drinks. It was not that busy at the bar and there was 3 bartenders, we still had to wait again to be served, they did not say anything to us, just stared at us and continued to serve other people. Finally when they decided to serve us, they did not have the beer i requested so asked the bartender for a standard mixed drink (that every bar-tending school across the country teaches how to make no less) for my birthday drink. Not only did the bartender make my drink wrong and it tasted awful but instead of remaking it, tried to 'fix it' and made it even worse. Then when asked for the check, the bartender made me pay full price for it!! The menus we were shown while waiting had only half the seafood choices they had prior to Corky Bells took over and the prices for what they did have were changed higher by pen! Needless to say we left in disgust. If the food was anything like the service since the take over, we were glad not to order anything to eat.
A surprisingly bad start to a birthday weekend and i can assure you i will not be going back any time soon and will stop recommending this restaurant to anyone i know.
I have been eating at Corky Bells for years since they opened. I know of a few people who drive 50 miles from Gainesville to Palatka to have good food and great view. My wife and I even with our busy schedules go every other week from Interlachen. Have a good meal.
